Level 38, unlocked! 🎮 🥳🦁💙 How do you feel, Jelani?! I feel blessed. I can’t remember the last time that I have been this happy 😉 And I thank God for this. Everything in my life isn’t perfect, but I am having a really good time LIVING! Yesterday, my Pastor preached on Deuteronomy 8:1-16 NKJV. There were two things that spoke to me the most: (1) You are the most valuable thing that God has ever made. And your value doesn’t increase or decrease because of what you own or wear or drive. ✨ (2) The wilderness can be viewed as a punishment, it is still God’s plan. Even when the story is elongated, it is still God’s will. It is a necessary place of development. You cannot get around the development. You cannot get to the promise without the preparation. You can’t get to precision without pain. 🌳 I spent a lot of 37 rushing; trying to get caught up and to be at a place where what I went through was no longer impacting me. But the truth is, everything I experienced then and everything I am experiencing now is a part of the process. No matter how much preparation I can do (which I will continue to do because the goals still exist), people and other forces are not going to stop from doing ________. And it is a part of my development. And those forces won’t stop me from reaching the heights that God has for ME! Because they’re mine! 🙏🏽 Alright, message over! 20 years. One class. One committee that refused to let this moment be anything less than unforgettable. Behind every “best reunion ever” is a committee that didn’t sleep. 😅💚⭐ Over the last 18 months, this crew poured in the late nights, the budget revisions, the sponsor outreach, the “one more spirited discussion” meetings — all so CT06 could have the reunion weekend we deserved. We started with $0. We ended with sponsorships, scholarships for our 2026 grads, and a room full of classmates who showed up for each other. This is what happens when a class shows up for itself. CT06 | 20 Years of Legacy. One Unforgettable Weekend. 💚🤍 What a weekend. What a legacy. Over the course of 18 months, our 17-member planning committee poured countless hours into creating a weekend that celebrated our journey, honored our roots, and reflected the excellence of the Cass Technical High School Class of 2006. From the Awards Gala to our Give Back Together service project, Mindful Meditation/Yoga, the G. Riv Cookout, Uncut After Dark, and our Legacy Brunch, every event was made possible because of your support and presence. Our greatest accomplishment, however, extends beyond the celebration. 🤍 Together, we proudly raised and met our goal of $20,006, allowing us to award scholarships to 10 deserving graduating seniors from the Cass Technical High School Class of 2026. This achievement is a testament to what happens when a class comes together with purpose, generosity, and a commitment to leaving a lasting legacy. 👩🏽‍🎓👨🏽‍🎓 To everyone who attended, donated, sponsored, volunteered, purchased tickets, shared our events, and believed in this vision—thank you. Your investment made an impact that will be felt long after the reunion weekend ended. Yes, it did in fact take me 3 days to get my bearings and recover from such an outstanding weekend. ✨ 🥹💚🤍 13 year old Jelani never saw Cass in his future. I was planning to go to a few other high schools in Detroit, but definitely not Cass. I didn’t think I would fit in and with all that was going on at home, I honestly just didn’t want to go. But from the moment I heard the marching band, I was hooked🥁 The CT Legacy & Brand means so much to me and I am happy to have continued the legacy my parents (Class of 1970) set out for me. I am so glad I was not only able to experience the reunion festivities firsthand this weekend, but I was honored to be chosen to be a part of the Planning Committee. 15+ months ironing out every detail, bi weekly calls that soon became weekly calls, which then turned into calls 2-3x a week, was worth it to see the results of the week. 💚 It was truly an honor to be on both the Marketing & Scholarship Committees. Game planning on how we wanted to engage our social media followers, curating amazing content, making sure we were staying on trend, creating scholarship applications, partnering with CT Alumni Association, reviewing applications, encouraging classmates to donate, and then finally rewarding/presenting 10 students with $2,000 each was such a amazing experience! I will always look at this time and cherish it. 👨🏽‍🎓👩🏽‍🎓 To the Planning Committee - Maaaaan, I love yall! We were such a well oiled machine. I mean, look at the material aka the weekend! Everything was done so perfectly and thoughtfully and anything that wasn’t was simply out of our control. Some of us never connected in high school, but so happy we were able to as adults. 🤍 To my classmates - I hope yall had a good time. We all deserve the outpour of blessings and celebration this weekend brought to us.
