Mr. Bubbles. I received him as a Christmas gift when I was around 5. Previously, I lost my dog (Roxy) due to a hit and run when I was only about 3. Roxy’s death scarred me a little bit. Although I didn’t know Roxy like Mr. Bubbles at the time, I was still sad. Fast Forward back to Christmas, I opened the box, and there he was. I was so so happy. I wasn’t sure what to name him for a few minutes, but then I came up with “bubbles”. I was fascinated with bubbles. My dad added the “Mr” to make it unique. He brought so much joy into my life after that day. He wasn’t just a childhood dog, I considered him one of my closest friends. Family. This photoshoot was inspired by his love for being outside. Nature. On this walk, I thought about all the memories. He protected you when he thought you were in danger. He was in almost every single family photo and he knew it (he was very photogenic). He would sit next to you on the couch when there was a lot more space. He would lick you so much. He was a true form of love. I thank God for the time I had with him, and I realized that life really is short. Mr. Bubbles had to be put down due to liver failure and Anemia. We didn’t want him to suffer. While grief is very real, cherish every moment. After the death of someone, it can be easy to remember what you could’ve done differently or what you should’ve done, but you should focus on the positives. You can’t go back in time, so why hurt over the negatives? “Don’t be sad because it’s over, but be happy that it happened” is something you should always remember. It’s okay to cry, but don’t let it overtake you. Love is beautiful. Life is beautiful. Take a walk with those you love and experience the beauty outside. Things can change in a matter of seconds. Although it was the first day of school and my parent’s anniversary the day Mr. Bubbles passed away, I thank God for comforting me. I thank you guys for comforting me. I love you all and I pray you’re able to keep your head up and keep walking during hardships. May Mr. Bubbles rest in peace, and may I be able to see him again from above. Something my family always does after prayer…”Gooooo family love!” *bark bark*. 🫶🏾
