125 years ago, Otto Plarre opened a bakery in Moonee Ponds.

That bakery went on to become one of the biggest family-run businesses in Victoria, employing hundreds of people.

Today, there are more than 80 Ferguson Plarre’s across the state, and the most popular item on the menu is still the classic sausage roll.

It was a pleasure to host a luncheon with three-generations of the Plarre family last week including OAM recipient, Ralph Plarre.

Here’s to another 125 years, because who doesn’t love cake?

Tonight’s weather report was live from the world premiere of Tina Arena: Unravel Me. A 90-minute documentary on the singer’s remarkable career, spanning five decades. There are no guarantees with live television, but as luck may have it, the ever-gracious Tina was available for a chat while we were on air.
