DILAW MV OUT NOW šŸ’›šŸš•šŸ’«šŸ So happy to finally get to show this beautiful story to the world! From cramming the concept deck, the storyboard, securing the locations, materials and creating a story from scratch within hours to assembling a team and finally coming on set nervous, then shooting, editing, coloring and mixed media-ing this whole thing! Grabe what an experience it was. Sharing art, experiences, what goes on during the making of a piece requires a lot of courage and vulnerability and so, thank you so much @clfrnia_maki for letting me take the lead and trusting me enough to expand and share the soul of the song into this story :ā€™) Thank you as well to @bini_maloi for always being such a ray of sunshine and being such a pleasure to be around with and to work with. You two are such beautiful souls that I will always be grateful to have shared memories with. And to my team, thank you for giving it your all during the shoot day - handling all of the logistics, handling of people, the physically demanding tasks so I can focus, etc. None of this would be possible without all of the sacrifices that each person did during that day. Maraming mga pagkukulang na sinalo ng iba na hindi naman trabaho gawin yun, maraming na compromise sa boards, pero at the end of the day, Iā€™m happy with what we accomplished and so is everyone else. And thatā€™s all that matters now. Thank you. All the love, Dilaw team. Will be posting BTS pics soon! Mwa. Tayo Lang Ang Nakakaalam (2026) / @tlanfilm.2026 šŸŽØColored by yours truly! Directed by @dementoman Director of Photography @adam_dmgn We won Cinemalaya 22ā€™s Best Cinematography award!! Story time: On a random november evening last year, Adam messaged me if I wanted to help color grade his first DP work on a feature film. It was my first time color grading someone elseā€™s film, let alone a feature film in one of the biggest festivals here. So talagang I was excited, and I kept the self doubt as quiet as possible. Iā€™ve never even met Adam in person before (I still havenā€™t). I just met him online through Lexter, who was always the DOP in my projects. Adam kept giving us the most outrageous discounts ever sa pag renta nya samin ng mga gamit na para bang ā€œkumikita ka pa ba bro? HAHAā€. Anyway, I took on the project without hesitation to return the favor and to also gain experience and put my name out there. Ayun, after a few months. Production eventually started and we did a couple of color tests. Weeks of approvals and back and forths until we eventually settled on a look and finalized what the visual language of the film was. Special mention lang din kay sir @lomsylog for the guidance regarding the process ng post prod. First time ko kasi talaga and biggest fear ko when this was starting ay yung magka gulo gulo dahil iba yung process ko or whatever tapos taga pampanga pa ako - pero naging super smooth lang! After that, coloring the film was a breeze HAHAHA parang 1-2 days lang tapos na yung work ko. Eventually, we finished and cinemalaya was starting. We were up against a bunch of veterans with a lot of experiences, so we never expected or even did this to win. Parang gusto lang talaga namin mag kwento at maka experience, bonus nalang na kasama mga pangalan namin sa kanila. Kumbaga, we are in the room. HAHAH Kaya super saya lang. I wish I got to attend tho! The floods made it pretty horrible to travel from Pampanga to Manila. Anyway, maraming salamat direk Adam sir Josh and the whole TLAN team! Lahams ko kayo at sana maka work ko kayo ulit at mameet narin! by @jaydeealberto
I made a new film with my good friends @coletidula @allowwna @notabigayle @jeymslii @parkjinwoooooooo @kolonelmonarch @iceludacris @_sanctuarhi Story time muna: A few months ago I went out to attend my sisterā€™s graduation. Unfortunately, there were only 2 reserved seats and those were for my parents, so I decided to walk around the neighborhood instead and have a coffee while waiting. I walked past familiar sights and places only to realize how hollow they feel now. Kahit sa AUF side gate ang konti nalang ng vendors ngayon. For months before that, I also had gotten really close again to an old friend, Lars. We usually bond over bouldering, but occasionally also reminisce about highschool. He even mentioned one time how it had been almost 8 years since we graduated, and I genuinely couldnā€™t fathom how much time has passed. There were so many people we used to be close to but donā€™t speak to anymore. So many people we experienced our ā€œfirstsā€ with, like partying, getting drunk, skipping class, sneaking out, etc. And now, thereā€™s just nothing there. Something, something about having so much love left to give, but nowhere to put it. Through making this film, I also found the courage to reach out to another old friend, something I havenā€™t even properly processed yet. But thatā€™s already one good thing that came out of making this hahaha. Anyway, check it out on November 12. Much love. Amazing poster by @parkjinwoooooooo @jinu.hrt by @jaydeealberto
