Well, round 4 of the @drifting_sa state series was bloody awesome! After sending the car off to my good friend @jb_custom_automotive_fab for some well needed love and fixes, I was unsure how I’d go.

Started the morning off with some absolutely awesome battles, my standouts runs were with @shaerusselldrift working together for some good qualifying points. I ended up P2 in points straight off the bat, then unfortunately had a few average runs with @lippy1331 & Mark.

I stayed in the Top 5 after all 3 qualifying battles which I was chuffed with, taking me into the L1 top 8 introductions then the top 8 battles. I was matched against Shae again for my Top 8 battle and although I was worried at first, I kept my head in the fight and switched off emotions.

After 2 absolutely mental runs from myself & Shae, I took the win advancing to top4. It was so close you could almost barely pick a winner, we drove the wheels off the nissans!

My Top 4 was against @lippy1331 and I was sure I wasn’t going to stick with the 4th place curse, in the form up we were smashed with some absolutely crazy weather so none of us knew what to expect on the track. I knew I had to stay safe and consistent but I know troy is an insane driver so still had to send it. Unfortunately for troy, he spun & I kept 2 clean runs together advancing me into the final!!

I’ve never made it this far, the nerves really got to me and I’d never driven my car in the wet. The final battle was myself & @scottmassari_ I was having the best time, just running amuck rubbing the heck out of Scott’s doors & getting rubbed back, it was definitely a few battles to remember. Unfortunately I spun in the slow tight section, I just could not get any power down, I’ve got a lot to learn & need to mentally settle down a lot of the time.

Absolutely stoked with a P2 in L1, debut season and I’ve got 3/4 podium appearances under my belt, aswell as a nice trophy now!

3 podium appearances out of 4 L1 events in my first competitive drifting season, first trophy for the collection, man I’m stoked!!! I’ve improved & driven hard all year.

@drifting_sa Round 2 Recap!

Started off in practice adapting to the R32 after many upgrades and setup changes, the car was feeling night and day difference from the last time I drove it. Definitely needs more attention and some repairs but we will get there with it! Unfortunately I blew the diff in the morning in practice session #2 and I expected to be out for the day.

The legend himself @beaug.mx83 come to the rescue and forced me to drive the @madhousedriftteam 180, I gave in to the pressure and took her out. Started off with 2 solo’s to get a feel for the car & put some qualifying points on the board, eased into it qualifying in 10th place. My 2nd ”qualifying battle” was with @lippy1331 and it was a decent couple runs, with mistakes on either end!

These runs bumped me into the next set of qualifying battles was with @markmaticic and both of us progressed into the top 8 together which I was stoked with, it was an awesome set of runs from the both of us.

My top 8 battle was against @tatelindstrom and I honestly expected defeat as Tate is a nuts drivers. I went out with a chase to start with and drove absolutely nuts, I well exceeded my expectations. Winning that battle put me into the top 4!!

Unfortunately the 180 was out of action after copping abuse all day from the 2 of us, leaving me in @daniel_ferg255 NA EF falcon up against
@shaerusselldrift (I definitely took a knife to a gunfight) I knew there wasn’t much I could do but either way I was happy to progress so far into the day and I was very impressed with my driving!

@drifting_sa round 1 recap

I wanted to start taking big steps after a good (half) 2025 season. I started off by purchasing the R32, then made the call to throw myself into the deep end of L1 and progress quicker by learning much more. I haven’t had much seat time at all in this car so it’s the perfect way to learn and adapt.

The morning practice on sunday was over before it started, after throwing grip into the car to get it somewhat competitive, I snapped a stub axle on the way to line up for my first practice lap, putting me back into the pits needing repair. Thankfully a friend of mine had the part i needed (Thanks so much @kaleb_harris15 )

I jumped into Qualifying session 1 with @obsty.co and didn’t do too bad straight off the bat, both Codey and I qualified mid pack which surpassed my expectations.

Qualifying session 2 wasn’t too ideal as I was doing it solo due to another persons car being unable to make it to the grid, I had an average lap at first then the 2nd one I felt like I gave it a much better shot. Unfortunately I placed just outside of top 16 (literally 17th) which sucks but I will be going into round 2 with a better car understanding and happy that I gave L1 a crack.

At the end of the day, I went out for best of the rest and drove better than I did all day of course 🫠 atleast now I know when I let the nerves settle and have fun I’ll be better off.
