Well the 2023 competition season officially came to an end last weekend for @btyfitness_19

A successful year, improving on our wins from 2022 with a total of:

Proud of each and every one of you to step on stage this year and beyond thankful for your trust and the opportunity to be the one in your corner during this wild journey.

2024 is shaping up to me one hell of a season with lots of the team coming out of long offseasons and the addition of some exciting new members.

Still taking on new clients for 2024 competition season, especially for those looking to compete late summer into fall! Let’s get those offseasons started and let’s get to work!

Another amazing year has come and gone. 2024 was another year of improvement for the team filled with lots of success, from first time competitors to veterans returning to the stage, and pro debut’s. It is such a blessing to be able to guide all of these amazing individuals through their journeys, and to be a part of their lives and watching them grow as individuals both in and out of the gym.

Shown is a sequence of some of my favourite moments from 2024, from wins, to cool photos and a sample size of this years incredible transformations.

2 years of relentlessness

This is the goal Antoine sent me 23 months ago. I knew the second I saw the first photos he was selling himself short on what he could accomplish.

But the best thing for me is that he never said “I want to turn pro” he never even said he wants to win. He said I want to be my best, whatever that looks like. He wanted to see what he could accomplish, and we joked yesterday that I bet he never imagined where that one regional show in Barrie 15 months ago would take his life and the ride it would set him on.

While we aren’t walking away with the goal we developed along the way today, we blew the entire reason we started working together out of the water.

The lesson within all of this always remains - you truly never know what you are capable of until you give it everything you’ve got.

Weekend in Vancouver is wrapped up, and while this flight home doesn’t exactly hold the emotions we hoped and worked for it can never take away from the effort and execution these 3 athletes brought to this season.

Antoine finishing 2nd in an absolutely insane class D with placings 1 through 6 all being extremely talented and overall winners in multiple regional shows we knew it was going to be a dog fight. They got worked round after round and ultimately ended up taking 2nd place to an extremely deserving champion.

Jay taking 2nd in LHW and 3rd in classic B, bringing a much improved package from a few weeks back. Learnt a little more this show about his very stubborn body to take into next season to continue to bring things to the next level.

Paris taking 5th place in Fit Model C in her 2nd ever show and 1st nationals, we know we just need to bring the legs down in size and tighten up the glutes and she has a great look for the division.

So proud of these athletes. 2 shows left for the season for BTY and the foot isn’t letting off the gas!

Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the leanest of them all

Last show hurt. But you can’t get burnt without a fire, and that’s exactly what happened. It’s been all in these last few months. Another amazing lineup of athletes ahead of us and we are more than ready for Sunday!

This wins still sinking in.

From the first time I saw him on stage in 2022 at Fouad I remember saying to Bavee, who the hell is that kid. I knew he had something special back then but something was missing.

Dean has done a lot of shows over the years, and he has always done good, but never great. You could tell he loved it, but the real fire had never been lit. He came to me with the goal to win an overall, because in all his shows he still had yet to do so, and we hit a double overall (MP / Classic) in our first show together.

But something still felt missing, he won and accomplished his goal, but I still felt he had more to give. It wasn’t til after Toronto PQ where we had a few serious conversations about his potential and what I saw for him if he truly just bought into every single bit of this process.

And within a few weeks I began to see the vision I had for him coming to life, the potential he had shown me years ago was no longer just potential, he was becoming it. He spoke to me differently, he spoke to me with a level of self belief these last few weeks I had yet to see from him, and that all played out on stage this weekend.

You must believe before you can become.

Straight up appreciation for this guy, the attention to detail from this man is unmatched. The attentiveness, care, and efforts are always above and beyond. Having @jayden_snyder in my corner this year has been a huge game changer. Always keeping me in check and guiding me to be the best bodybuilder I can be. This past weekend was my best showing and best national placing and I’m damn proud of it. But we still have room to improve, which is what we will do. Run it back in 2027 after some offseason work and see if we can make it happen by @jayden_snyder

Last year: Classic Physique, 217 lb weight cap.

This year: Bodybuilding, Super Heavyweight — nearly 35 lbs heavier.

The goal was simple: push the timeline, test a new approach, and finally crack the peak I’ve been chasing. Success on all fronts. And this is only the beginning.

Huge thank you to my coach @jayden_snyder for your leadership, professionalism, and commitment. My wife for your eternal love and continuous support. And my friends, for your passion and enthusiasm (and bullying me into moving up 😆).
