It is with a very heavy heart that I have to say that we have lost Krys Noseworthy.

She always proudly called herself the first daughter of Trouble Bound, it was a statement that always made me smile. Partially because she knew I am a giant nerd and the Thanos reference wasn’t lost on me but largely because Krys was my first apprentice.

I didn’t want an apprentice but she really didn’t care.

She started chasing me about a year and a half before Trouble Bound Studio even existed. Large clusters of loose papers covered with anime inspired drawings that largely looked like herself in hand. She would catch me off guard and force me into long discussions about design and structure.

Time and time again she was there… ever working harder until I broke.

And that was it… she was family.

Krys helped me build the shop and moved from apprentice to full time tattooist/fire wielding busker. Tattooing gave her options that she loved, in particularly the ability to travel. Quickly the road became her home and as she prepared for her first major trip to Ireland, she asked me for one last tattoo… a wing for her right hand… to carry her forward.

It seemed like a simple request. I penned on a wing on which she flapped around making horrible pigeon cueing noises until her smile crumpled between pursed lips. “Do you know why I want this wing on my hand?” Krys asked, I shrugged. Tears welled up in her eyes as she said “So it can can always bring me back to the ones I love.”

On September 3, Krys decided to leave us. I will always cherish our years together and I wish the First Daughter of Trouble Bound peace… I can only hope that you knew how much you are loved and will be missed…safe travels 💜

Soooo this is it, 49 years of me hanging out on this earth. I’ve been lucky to see and experience so many incredible things. Thank you all for your kind thoughts but for now I’ll be hiding on a beach with my family @ellemd far from the chaos of the world.
❤️to all
