Please, can we take a moment to appreciate this smile?❤️ I don’t know what it is about this picture, but I really like it. I love how relaxed and happy I look, and the smile just makes it even better. 🥰 Anyway, I thought to bring it here and let it have its moment on the timeline ❤️✨ by @jaye.sonia
Today I attended a break out session on Entrepreneurship and Business Development and one of the concepts that was explored was the IKIGAI Opportunity screening guide as a foundation for building a solid startup. One thing that stood out to me was the importance of developing an entrepreneurial mindset. Learning to look at the problems around us differently, recognise gaps in society, and begin to think about the solutions we can create. We explored the Japanese concept of Ikigai and how it helps us connect four important things: 📌 What you love: your passion. The things that interest you and the sectors you naturally find yourself drawn to. 📌What you’re good at : your profession, skills, strengths, knowledge, and the things you can do well. 📌What the world needs : Your Mission which includes the problems, gaps, and unmet needs around you that require solutions. 📌 What you can be paid for: (vocation) How you can turn your skills and the value you create into a service or business that people are willing to pay for. The interesting part is seeing how these areas can connect to helping you identify opportunities worth exploring. Another important lesson was that entrepreneurs are not just business owners; they are potential job creators and service providers. Many of the businesses providing employment opportunities today started because someone identified a need and decided to do something about it. It got me thinking: instead of only asking, “Where can I get a job?”, perhaps we should also be asking, “What problem can I solve? What value can I offer? And how can I turn that value into an opportunity?” This isn’t to say that everyone must become an entrepreneur, but it is a reminder that we all have the potential to create value when we learn to recognise and develop what we carry. I’m learning to look at my interests, skills, and the world around me with a more intentional eye. Perhaps the beginning of a business isn’t always a big idea. Sometimes, it starts with noticing a problem and deciding to find a solution. by @jaye.sonia
Happy New Week! 🧡 Before the week gets busy, have you taken a moment to plan what you actually want to get done? Sometimes, we get so caught up in the day-to-day activities that we get to Friday and realise there were things we wanted to do but never got around to. So, what’s the plan for this week? What are your priorities, what needs your attention, and what have you been putting off? Let’s make this week productive🧡 by @jaye.sonia

Sometimes, the hardest part of trusting God is not knowing what He is doing or how everything will work out. You pray, you wait, you believe, and some days, you get tired. But even when you cannot see the way, you can still trust the One who leads you. Abraham had reasons to doubt, yet he remained fully persuaded that God would keep His promise. Don’t let what you see make you forget what God has said. Don’t let the waiting make you doubt His faithfulness. by @jaye.sonia
One of my favourite parts of attending events is the opportunity to connect with people. The person you happen to sit beside. The little conversation that starts with, “So what do you do?” The person who tells you something you didn’t know. The exchange of contacts. The realisation that everyone in the room is figuring something out, pursuing something, or working towards something. I met some really amazing people at the Aston University postgraduate seminar in Abuja, and I’m glad I didn’t just attend and leave. I actually connected. by @jaye.sonia
Yesterday, I had the opportunity to attend an Aston University seminar at John Wood Hotel, Abuja and it was a really informative experience. The session was focused on helping us understand what pursuing a Master’s degree at Aston University actually involves. The documents required, the application process, what to consider before applying, and the steps to take throughout the process. What I really appreciated was how practical the session was. They took the time to break down the process and answer questions, which made it easier to understand what is expected and how to prepare. I’m still figuring out what the next step of my academic journey looks like, so having this information in one place made things a lot clearer for me and gave me a better idea of what I need to start putting in place. I’m grateful I got the opportunity to be part of the session, ask questions, and learn more about what pursuing a Master’s at Aston University could look like. And a special thank you to @thejapaqueen for sharing the information about the session Thank you, @astonuniversityafrica, for putting together such an informative session. 🤍 📸 @flawlessshotit_ by @jaye.sonia
If joy had a personality, it would be me💃💃 Always bringing the light, always finding a reason to smile, and somehow always becoming the life of the room 🥹 Life is too beautiful not to dance your way through it. 💃🏽❤️ by @jaye.sonia
A little Abuja vlog because apparently, every journey deserves a little documentation. 😂 From getting ready to being on the road, here’s a tiny glimpse of the trip. 🤎 Come along with me🚀🚀 by @jaye.sonia
