Grateful for the opportunity to attend the New to San Diego Spouse event hosted by @bluestarfamilies aboard the @ussmidwaymuseum
It was a wonderful way to connect with other military spouses and learn more about our new community. 🫶🏻 I hope these next few years go slow!! Each military tour seems to go by faster these days!

One of the coolest moments was seeing the CH-46 helicopter aboard the Midway. My dad is a former Marine and flew on the CH-46 48 years ago, so getting to see that aircraft in person made the experience even more special. ⚓️🇺🇸❤️ @bluestarfamilies @ussmidwaymuseum @uscgsectorsandiego @target taken in USS Midway Museum by @jayelyn_hall

Yesterday, Breanna and Isabella raced the Mini distance triathlon at the Chula Vista Challenge in San Diego, Ca. What a weekend of progress, confidence, and strong racing! 🏊‍♀️🚴‍♀️🏃‍♀️🌊
🥇 Breanna — 1st overall Mini Triathlon
🧜‍♀️ Isabella — 4th Age Group
But the progress started before race day. On Friday, we went surfing with friends, and watching the girls figure it out was so much fun. They went from working on simply popping up on the board to actually catching a wave and riding it all the way in! 🌊🏄‍♀️. Then Sunday it was back to racing, and those kids were STRONG. Congratulations to all of the athletes who raced! Watching them come through the run course was impressive — so many determined, strong young triathletes out there. ❤️ I also got to experience race day from a different perspective with my first time volunteering at the Itsy Run turnaround. Cheering those kids on as they made the turn was such a great reminder of what youth triathlon is all about!! @endorphin_fitness @kozevents taken in San Diego, California by @jayelyn_hall

I’m learning that one of the greatest joys of homeschooling is watching stories come full circle.

During Breanna and Isabella’s primary years, we studied the Vikings and Medieval Europe through @sonlightcurriculum and read The Viking Adventure. Around that same time, they watched 🎥 @httydragon 2, adding another layer of imagination and wonder to what they were learning.

Fast forward seven years, and we had the opportunity to experience How to Train Your Dragon 2 in Concert at @theshellsd with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. It was also the score’s North American Premiere for the upcoming live action film. Hearing @johnj_powell beautiful score performed live brought back memories of those homeschool days while giving us a new appreciation for Hiccup’s journey of courage, leadership, love, loss, and finding family.

One of the highlights of the evening was hearing John Powell share that he “writes for the musicians, not for the film.” That perspective made the music—and the entire experience—even more meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to @bluestarfamilies for giving our family the opportunity to relive a special part of our homeschooling journey together. We are so grateful for this unforgettable experience. taken in The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park by @jayelyn_hall

🏎️🇺🇸 Kicking off our day at @nascarsandiego with a few laps around the @k1speed circuit before the action begins! What a way to start race day! 🏁

We also scored a special commemorative set of NASCAR trading cards featuring the Naval Base Coronado insignia on the back—a unique keepsake from an incredible event.

If you’re looking for an unforgettable experience, come out and support NASCAR at Naval Base Coronado. Fast cars, military pride, family fun, and an amazing atmosphere all in one place. You won’t regret it! @nascar @ford @teamchevy

✨ They’ll always remember this as a special night!! Memories were made again aboard the @ussmidwaymuseum . Honored to attend the Proud to Honor event aboard the historic USS Midway Museum for a truly patriotic evening celebrating service, sacrifice, and the military community. The night featured an incredible performance by Zac Brown Band along with special appearances from Nick Ford, Rob Riggle, Tim Clark, and NASCAR driver Frankie Muniz. Guests also had the opportunity to meet NASCAR drivers Cole Butcher, Jake Garcia, Zane Smith, and Todd Gilliland.

We were especially missing our wingman, Gunner Hall, who is currently deployed, but we know he was there with us in spirit. Grateful for an evening that honored our nation’s heroes, celebrated the military community, and reminded us of the sacrifices made by service members and their families every day. @bluestarfamilies @nascarsandiego @nascar @ford @zacbrownband
