No purpose or pressure, just been thinking about this line from The Haunting of Hill House and felt like drawing for the first time in ages. When I first started using Instagram it motivated me to draw for a while but I ruined it… something I used to love and do to relax became a chore. I pressured myself to post something every day, with the result that it wasn’t fun at all and was often something I wasn’t happy with and didn’t even want to show. Now I’m rediscovering drawing just for enjoyment and not caring about what people might think or whether it’s “productive” or not. Sometimes it’s personal and not for showing, a concept I had kind of forgotten existed. Today, for the first time in a long time, it was just to switch off and relax, and it felt good :)
