I’m a little late posting about Italy, mainly because I haven’t been using Instagram as much lately.

But this trip was too special not to share. We were lucky enough to experience one of the most beautiful places in Italy alongside two of our dearest friends, and it’s a trip we’ll always be grateful for.

From breathtaking scenery and incredible food to unforgettable moments with amazing people, this Italian vacation was everything we could have hoped for. Italy truly is one of the most beautiful travel destinations in the world, and we’re already looking forward to going back.

Here’s to incredible memories, great company, and hopefully me getting a little better at posting again. 🇮🇹❤️

A Note for Us All ~ Hectors. Fly High Angel.

I think we could all say more than enough about what Nan meant to us; as a mother, grandmother, sister, aunty, friend, and even, at one point in her working life, a dinner lady.

Losing Nan has brought a multitude of feelings. But the one I want to hold is relief knowing you are hand in hand with your lifetime love of 68 years again. Married 66. Granddad.

I didn’t truly anticipate loss until Granddad was first diagnosed with cancer — then went into remission, only to face challenges again. That’s when I realized how hard it would be to keep Nan purposeful. She had 68 years of someone gently sulking, winding her up, teasing her - and when Granddad passed, she was left with her two dumplings (sons) and her grandchildren to help fill that void.

Rest in peace, and power Nan. You are able to meet your long-time love again — in a place I imagine holds only calm, beauty, and warmth.

You are everything to each of us. Above all, you are abundant love.

She was warm.
She was kind.
She was loving.
She was protective - she showed us all what love meant and how to pass it forward.

She wouldn’t fault you, but she would always offer an opinion — whether asked for or not. She simply was love, in person form.

I know her life and her love have imprinted onto how we now love our partners, our friends, and most importantly, our children. She gave abundantly, without expectation of anything in return.

She was.
She is.
And she will always be remembered as LOVE.

There’s an unknown kind of flexibility I never understood when I was chasing dreams. Some dreams are constantly reimagined, shaped by the next stage of life; others are left behind, surrendered to changing circumstances like loss or limitation.

My dreams have often been entangled. My purpose has morphed over time. As I’ve grown older, my life has unfolded in many directions—and I’ve come to realize I’ve genuinely enjoyed the evolving journey.

Now, the dreams I have look different from the ones I once held. But the purpose of life—happiness, growth, the journey itself—remains constant.

My truest sense of joy comes in the moments my wife and daughter smile. In the times when I’m not second-guessing how they’re feeling, but simply feeling the warmth of their glow. In their creativity. My silence is the loudest indicator of my peace.

Through it all, I continue living out my purpose—knowing they need security, stability, and love from me. And when they have that, we all move together in beautiful alignment.

My happiness comes in waves. It feels like knowing I’ve already lived some of the best moments life can offer—and yet, I know I’ll be swept along by many more waves of bliss and soul-filling moments.

And in love—the kind that grows, anchors, and redefines what it means to arrive. This is life right now. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything.

Late to the party, but couldn’t let this month slip away without celebrating the greatest party of the year- @redribbongala!🙌🏼❤️ Truly in awe of the event you created @louienapoleone @codydav and all of the incredible volunteers, coordinators and fundraisers that make it possible for this kind of magnificence to take place in Tulsa, OK. Congratulations on over 1.3 MILLION raised for #tulsacares transforming the lives of clients and serving as the leading voice to help end HIV & Hepatitis C in the community. This work is profound and those that have dedicated their lives and countless hours to the cause inspire me endlessly. Congratulations to @theryanjude & Jay Krottinger for the well deserved acknowledgment of your profound impact. In awe of each of you. Yes, I’m still here. I’ve been terrible at social media for the longest and haven’t posted in 3 months.

Life has been busy; work, training, sickness, health & family have all absorbed my time. But I’m back in action and ready for the warmer days!

This Year: 2024 has been my best, most highly rewarded and consistent years of Health, Fitness & Activity.
•
Between changing my sleep pattern, waking up at 5am every day, being a part of #Crossfit & #hyrox style competitions; to training as an accountability partner and hitting personal bests in 15k, 13.1 miles and other runs and remaining “in training” during the heaviest travel years we have had as a family… I feel like I’ve kept my annual self promise.
•
I’ll likely add a marathon next year (2025) and hopefully remain as busy with work, family and hobbies.

For the last 7 months I have been on a health, fitness and training journey (both at the gym, home and whilst on vacations) and started every single day at 5am! This was new as my days used to start at 7am ~ or with Lola and now I’m done before she even wakes up.

I wanted to practice discipline, hard work, maximum effort, consistency & grit to see if this 37 year old could build muscle, cut body fat and also continue consistently and not just for a month. 7 months later and sticking to a semi regimented nutrition plan with super consistent training; I may be close to the best shape of my life! LFG!
