I spent the last four years 1,000 miles away from home. When I first came to New Orleans, I had no idea how deeply I would fall in love with this city. To every native who spoke life into me and shared kind words after hearing I attended Xavier, thank you. The love and support from this community has meant more than I can put into words. Chicago will always be home, but New Orleans is where I grew into adulthood. These years shaped me, made me become the woman I am today. Today, May 9th, I will be graduating from Xavier University of Louisiana. Oh, how time flew by so quickly. I give all glory to my Heavenly Father, who placed me at Xavier. A place He knew would nurture my future endeavors of becoming a doctor. This journey was filled with ups and downs, but regardless, it has made me into all that I am today.
