In the beginning of 2025 I was in a life altering car accident. I make jokes about it, and it seems like so long ago now, but it truly was the scariest moment of my life. With that being said, I truly believe it was God kicking me in the ass.

At the time I was struggling with my sense of self, took life for granted, was constantly chasing external validation, and had difficulty letting go of what no longer served me. My accident taught me how to let go. That rejection was redirection, and often protection. That every time I thought something wasn't working out the way I wanted or planned, it was actually working in my favor ten fold.

It was the push I needed to turn my life around. To invest in myself. To work on my mind, my body, and my spirituality.

With that being said, it also reminded me life is short. It led me to decide to begin hair school, a lifelong dream, which ultimately became the best decision of my life.

I am now graduating, and looking back- I got a lot done this past year. So, here are the things I accomplished while going through hair school:

✨ Finished my junior year of college
✨ Lost over 60lbs and stayed consistent in the gym
✨ Worked two jobs for four months while attending both schools
✨ Became certified in two extension methods
✨ Built a clientele and secured a job for after graduation
✨Made the Dean's list
✨ Still made time for my friends and family

2025 was one of the hardest years of my life, but it was also one of the most necessary. I asked God for flowers, and he gave me rain. Now I understand why.

That season gave me the push I needed to take back my health, grow into the person I wanted to become, and begin building the life I’ve always envisioned for myself.

I’m so proud to officially say that as of Wednesday I will be a licensed hairstylist! I’ll be starting my career at Salon480, assisting Bree at @sublimeebeauty while finishing my senior year at ASU! Thank you so much to all of my friends, family, and clients who have supported me and trusted me on this journey. A little bit of different content tonight, but I think I'm feeling sappy with taking state boards tomorrow!
Prior to beginning hair school I had a lot of anxiety about what the social aspect of it would look like. I was starting over yet again with making friends; something I've had to do many times at this point with integrating myself into new environments- but never something that feels easy. I knew at the end of the day, I was really just going to school to get my license, and decided if I made friends along the way then great, but I didn't want to make it a priority.

I can now confidently say I have met some of my most favorite people ever while in school. I look forward to going to school each week just to see their faces:) With graduation coming near I am so sad that I won't be seeing these girls as regularly, but I am so excited to see what our futures hold and the growth we each accomplish! Hair school has most definitely been one of my best decisions ever, and I can't believe I am officially a month away from being done🥹
