Jewelry can be more than adornment. It can be movement, light, and meaning.

Jayme Marshall ( @jaymemarshalldesign ) has been handcrafting art jewelry for decades, refining her craft through formal training at MICA and ongoing study in traditional and contemporary metalsmithing. Each piece is created by hand from fine or sterling silver sheet and wire, layered with texture, pattern, and patina.

Touches of gold, gemstones, sea glass, pearls, and flame worked glass beads add depth and character, reflecting her reverence for the natural world and lifelong spirit of exploration. The result is a collection that feels both grounded and expressive.

From her historic Burkittsville gallery studio, Jayme continues to create distinctive, handcrafted jewelry rooted in artistry and intention.

Meet Jayme Marshall (@jaymemarshalldesign) ✨

Jayme has been creating art jewelry for more than 30 years — crafting pieces that blend movement, texture, light, and symbolism. Working primarily with fine and sterling silver — often accented with gold, gemstones, sea glass, pearls, and flame-worked glass — her work explores both traditional metalsmithing and experimental techniques.

One of her favorite methods is “Keum-boo” an ancient Korean gilding process that bonds gold to silver, creating luminous contrasts in her designs. She also incorporates antique impression dies and rich surface treatments, building layers of texture and meaning into each piece.

Much of Jayme’s inspiration comes from mythology and wisdom traditions — weaving symbolic imagery into jewelry that connects us to nature, story, and place.

Her metalsmith studio and gallery are located in the historic village of Burkittsville, Maryland, nestled between South Mountain and Catoctin Mountain — a place where history, landscape, and creativity meet.
