Still my favorite photo of us.

What started as just two moms latching on to one another in the throws of motherhood because their boys got along at 3 years old has become my favorite platonic love affair.

From family dinners, to mom’s nights out, to family vacations, and Covid lockdown, we’ve become a lifeline for one another over the last decade. I’ve never had a friend so genuinely consistent in her goodness, in showing up no matter what. Emergency contacts and last resort child care. Sleepovers and sleepless nights. Voice notes and park walks. Wonderful Runs and backyard bonfires. Lake days and late nights. The worst days and the best ones.

I think I’m in shock that you’re leaving me. There will never be another friend that could know the pieces of me that you’ve known during the hardest years of parenting.

With husbands who work unique careers, we’ve managed to fill in the gaps and become co-parents. The second moms (and let’s be real, sometimes you’re the dad 😂). The sister wives. And now we’ll find a way to do that from a longer distance, with broken hearts but never a broken bond - we’ll forever have these years, in the weeds of motherhood, together. ❤️ taken in Brooklyn, New York by @jaymie.kellyyy

I said to Greer on Friday morning “our friends are coming today!” And she snapped back, “FRIENDS!?
