BERLIN MARATHON 🇩🇪🏅

3:35:19. A 15-minute PR. Still trying to wrap my head around that one. 😮‍💨🔥

Last year, I ran 3 marathons, but injuries made it tough to really see what I was capable of. This time around, I went into an 18-week training block and, for the first time in a while, I was able to train consistently and stay healthy. No major setbacks, just showing up and putting in the work week after week.

Race day wasn’t perfect either. Had to make a pit stop to pee, my left hamstring cramped up at mile 21, and then my right one decided to join the party at mile 25. 😂 At that point, all I could do was keep pushing, trust the work I put in, and get myself to that finish line.

15 minutes faster than my previous best. All those early mornings, long runs, and days when I didn’t feel like getting out the door were worth it.

This one hits different. Not just because of the PR, but because I finally got to see what I could do when I stayed healthy and gave myself the chance to train properly.

Berlin, you were special. 🇩🇪❤️

On to the next one. 🏃🏽‍♂️💨

We don’t share much of our personal life, but some moments mean everything.
Getting married last year was one of those moments.

What we have is unforgettable, and it’s for life.
Grateful for the year behind us and excited for what’s ahead. ❤️ taken in The Venetian Catering by @jaynice202

Three marathons. One year. A journey that tested me in every way.
It wasn’t my strongest season, but it was one of my most meaningful.
I learned that progress isn’t always measured by time on a clock—it’s measured by perseverance, courage, and the willingness to keep going when things get hard.
Every starting line reminded me that growth lives outside comfort, and every finish line showed me I’m capable of more than I think.
This year didn’t break me—it built me.
On to the next chapter. 🏁✨ by @jaynice202

As we wrapped up our 3-part honeymoon, I can honestly say it was the perfect way to close out our two years of wedding planning. We spent countless days and nights on video calls, driving to meet vendors, and pinching pennies. While I don’t regret the adventure we had, I also wouldn’t have minded a laid-back beach trip to decompress. Either way, I’m so grateful—thank you to my wife. ❤️

We chose Europe since it was my first time there (besides London), and it did not disappoint. Barcelona was full of life, energy, and incredible food from every corner of the world. Our Mediterranean cruise stopped in Gibraltar, Marseille, Genoa, Florence, and finally Rome. Even though the cruise skewed to an older crowd, we loved the comfort of exploring new cities without having to unpack each time.

Rome, though… absolutely unreal. Reading about the history or watching movies doesn’t compare to standing in front of structures built over 2,000 years ago, still woven into a modern city. It left me speechless.

It was exhausting at times, but unforgettable. From all the laughs (some of embarrassments 😂), tripping over cobblestones, and sharing incredible meals—here’s to a fresh beginning and a lifetime ahead. 🥂✨ taken in Europe by @jaynice202

Where do I even begin…

I started my running journey back in 2014 with my cousin @seal.oh. He introduced me to his club, @tmircenyc. Although I only ran with them for a few months, it sparked something in me—a love for running—that I truly enjoyed but didn’t yet have the discipline to pursue. So, thank you both for planting that seed.

Fast forward to Aug 23’, I joined a neighborhood running club to help me prepare for the SI Half Marathon, which I completed in Oct 23’. While running with them, I fell in love with how they support their members—whether fast or slow—and how much they give back to the broader running community and the neighborhood we call home. From food drives to neighborhood cleanups and events for the elderly and children, this club has become so much more than just a group of runners. This is family.

Now onto this major feat in my life. Watching so many runners around me accomplish marathons, I knew I needed to do the same for myself. Initially, I tried hard to get into the 24’ NYC Marathon as my first, but I was unsuccessful through various avenues. Despite that, I continued training throughout the year as though I were preparing for a marathon. I refused to let all that training go to waste. That’s when I decided to sign up for the Philly Marathon. The moment I registered, I was filled with fear, worry, and nerves, doubting whether I could really achieve this. My brother alex_miles_to_go also signed up for the NYC Marathon, so I decided to follow his training plan. While training, there were countless moments when I didn’t want to get off the couch because I was so exhausted. Other times, I pushed myself too hard, running to the point where my knees ached from inflammation. Despite it all, I kept moving forward and stuck to the plan.

Yesterday, I ran to honor my mother, @cynthiacalderon508, who bravely fought breast cancer during the height of the pandemic when everything was shut down. I also ran to honor my grandmother, who will forever hold a special place in the hearts of my family. They gave me the strength to push through when the marathon became incredibly tough.

This one is for you both. Love you. ❤️ taken in Philadelphia by @jaynice202

This is my last run until my big day in Philly. I wanted to stop and snap a picture here because this is where it started for me (Aug 23’) and this is where it will always end. #home #running #runningcommunity #runclub #runfamily taken in Dyckman,NYC by @jaynice202

Great well put together event today at the #palisadeshalfmarathon. My team and I killed those beautiful scenic hills of the Palisades. Over 1,100 feet of elevation gain. 😅 we still got sub 2 hours for this half while all pulling up in the Brooks Hyperion Max 2. By far my favorite sneakers yet. Can’t wait to see what else @brooksrunning will come out with. taken in Palisades Interstate Park Trails by @jaynice202

NYRR Bk Half Marathon. This race was a struggle. I had a hip injury and was feeling good until mile 8. Then I limped my way to the finish line. I was aiming for 1:50 and ended up with 1:45. A new PR. I’ll take it. More PR’s to come. And I couldn’t have done it without the motivation and inspiration that @dyckmanrunclub has given me.
