Sunrise in the Okavango Delta.
And the air felt different.

We encountered three male lions moving through foreign territory.
Older. Experienced. Focused.

He walked ahead of the coalition —
scarred, composed, unmistakably the leader.

They were searching for a younger group we came across later that day.
Not for prey.
For dominance.

Moments like this remind you that wildlife isn’t just beauty —
it’s strategy, tension, and survival.

This male leopard emerged before us in his relentless search for a receptive female. We watched as he claimed his territory with scent marks, his deep calls echoing through the wild as he summoned her.
Bathed in almost perfect light, he stepped into position — and in that fleeting, powerful moment, I was able to take this shot.

Reindeer antlers are shed annually due to a drop in testosterone levels. This hormonal change causes a layer of tissue destruction at the base of the antler, called the abscission layer, which leads to the antler loosening and falling off.

Nilgans im Flug | Petite Carmargue-Frankreich

Das Sigma Sigma 150-600 DG DN OS enttäuscht einfach nicht! Kaum war der Eisvogel wieder unterwegs schnatterte es hinter mir. Als ich mich umdrehte sah ich diese Nilgans vorbeihuschen. Kamera angesetzt, Verschlusszeit verkürzt. Der Fokus saß sofort, man sieht sogar die Wassertropfen in der Luft, und zack!
