Nikki and I went to NY recently. We don't often post much in general, but it was quite an incredible trip. This picture, this moment, keeps coming back to me, so im posting about it now.

I have been trying to find myself again, who I am outside of being just a “mom and wife” or honestly any title. I’m craving community. People who value the same things I do, people who want to have deeper conversations, people who want to support each other through the messier parts of life. I want to reach out, speak out, and be open, but also set boundaries.

Doing life quietly and alone like this though, it's been...heavy.

Though it seemed smaller than we remembered, we took the boys sledding on the "big hill at Cool Creek" this weekend! Being the same hill that we flew down as kids, watching our kiddos make their own memories where ours began was something truly special. What started out as just an awesome find at the Covered Bridge Festival, that find being Frost Buddies covered in the Pillsbury Halloween cookies, instead started a new, all-out themed tradition for Chelsea and I! I couldn't help but order us matching sweatshirts and earrings to go with our cups and of course bake all of the Pillsbury Halloween cookies, and now I am looking forward to this sweet tradition for the following holidays and years to come! by @jaypurcell102
