Words can’t describe the feeling… in 2023, I decide to turn my life around for the better. I applied to 1 master’s program with only 7 days to prepare before the application deadline, and no backup plan. Out of over 200 applicants, I was selected along with about a couple dozen other students following multiple rounds of interviews.

Now, in 2026, I see the result of me choosing to heal and change for the better.

The look on her face after the ceremony, is priceless and worth the world to me🌎💗🥺 You are my role model, my inspiration, my heart, and my joy. I wore those Jamaican colors proudly across the stage to receive my M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and now I can say, “mama I made it”. 💚

I share my story to say… if you have a vision or a dream, no matter how slim your odds seem, just remember, keep going and the right path will work out for you no matter how it shows up.

Today was a special day. I now join the roughly 10% of Americans under 30 with a master’s degree 🎓 and part of the less than 5% of Black mental health professionals in the United States. Thank you to everyone who’s supported me the entire the way through, and to my beloved friends who have joined the journey too. 🫶🏽🥹❤️‍🔥 Here’s to making a positive impact on the world, one therapy session at a time 🌎 💕

Wow. 🥹 My life is forever changed by this trip. This page is the start of my new life—my true self.

Today, I choose to be kind to myself, to set boundaries, and to release the old version of me.

If I followed you, it’s because I love you. Your energy has inspired me, uplifted me, or reminded me of the values and frequency I now live by. You are my reflection, my motivation, and my heart.
