When asked what it means to be a man, JZ reflects on his battle with testicular cancer, a journey that changed everything about how he saw himself.

Instead of feeling sorry for himself or less of a man, he chose resilience. He rose above the fear, the doubt, and the noise and built strength from the struggle. @jayzee8

I’ve been thinking a lot about immigrants recently. In this moment of gratitude I cannot express my great appreciation for Mexico for accepting my refuge grandparents, as well as California for being such a source of stability and plentifulness for my immigrant parents. I have a lot to say about the fear-mongering and outright lies about the immigrant community but I’ll leave it at my deep gratitude for those who risk their lives to create a better one for their children, and those who accept them with open arms. The first page in my grandfather’s autobiography read “Gracias Mexico” a hundred times, along the sentiment : “we should give millions of thanks to Mexico for having given asylum to all the Mexican Jews” by @jayzee8
