Around 15-19 years old, I was produced by the best folks. When I think about that goodness, I love them all over again in my mind. How sweet and scared those people were. Anyways, I think that’s how it should be when it comes to most things in life. I wrote my thoughts down about this, and you can view it here / https://open.substack.com/pub/jazerswillis/p/on-being-bodied?r=86vol4&utm_medium=ios by @jazerwillis

This is a poem about soul food. Its origins. My great grandmother and the way her back bent like that of her mother’s own upon cotton. It is a reminder that Black people don’t hang themselves from trees. That we have always risen above what we have been given. Still, unhung yet soaring. Please enjoy and share with someone whose house smells like this poem. ♥️ by @jazerwillis

Long obedience and a whole lot, of faith. My first published article dropped this morning @ct_mag & it may be worth your read. I been loving on new friends and old ones just the same. Hand me a mic and I will say something black and beautiful. I’m working on my first novel. If I wasn’t a writer, I’d probably be euro stepping somewhere overseas 😂 all this to say this year, did not my heart burn within me? ❤️‍🔥 by @jazerwillis

Today, we’re stepping into Week 5 of The Winding Road, our six-week devotional series for Lent. Each week, we’re releasing a written reflection, an audio reflection produced in partnership with @theportersgate, and a formation practice.

“On days that I greet grief in my heart, I am reminded to indulge it with my whole self, in hopes that I might move the King to help me find rest.”

🔗 Head to the link in bio to download Week 5, listen to the audio reflection, and sign up for the upcoming releases. by @jazerwillis

This week’s reflection, rooted in Psalm 27, helps us center on the beauty of the Lord. Amidst the darkness all around us, God’s light shines bright as we rest in God’s goodness, beauty, and love. May we be given eyes to see our neighbor, ourselves, and even our “enemies” in light of God’s everlasting love.

This reflection was produced in partnership with @theportersgate at Waverly Springs Farm, with contributions by Jazer Willis and Tinayeshe Manyika.
