Dear WVSU 💛

As I prepare to close this chapter, I just want to take a moment to say thank you. Thank you for shaping me, challenging me, and helping me grow into the person I am today. These past few years have been filled with unforgettable memories, meaningful connections, and lessons that I will carry with me for a lifetime.

Serving as SGA President from 2024–2026 has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This experience pushed me beyond my comfort zone, strengthened my voice, and showed me the true meaning of leadership, service, and advocacy. To the students, faculty, and staff thank you for trusting me, supporting me, and allowing me to represent you.

WVSU, you have given me more than just an education. You’ve given me a family, a purpose, and a foundation for my future. Every late night, every event, every challenge it was all worth it.

As I move forward, I will always carry a piece of this university with me. This is not goodbye, it’s simply the beginning of a new journey.

Forever grateful. Forever Yellow Jacket 💛🐝

Dear Jazmine Hyde,

You did it, girl.

You really came to an HBCU in West Virginia and made it your own you didn’t just exist here, you blossomed. You grew into a powerful, resilient, and outstanding Black woman with a Bachelor’s in Social Work, and that is no small thing.

5x Dean’s List.
2x President’s List.

You showed up academically, consistently, and with excellence.

You became a leader:
• President of the LGBTQ+ Club (2023–2025)
• SGA President (2024–2026)

You created space, led with purpose, and made sure voices were heard.

You were recognized for your brilliance and dedication:
• NSLS Inductee (2022)
• Phi Alpha Social Work Honor Society
• Treasurer of Phi Alpha (2025–2026)

You didn’t just earn a degree you built a legacy.

Through every challenge, every moment of doubt, every late night you kept going. And now look at you.

I’m so proud of you. Keep shining, keep leading, and never forget where you started and how far you’ve come.

Love always,
Me 💛
