Gabriel is in 7th grade so we have begun looking at high schools he may want to go to. Walking into Northside’s open house today made me SICK with nostalgia. Back in 2008, I never knew walking into physics class on the first day of school I would meet Emilio. We didn’t start dating until the end of our senior year but the life we have built together since I will never take for granted. We talked about so many things walking through the school - the good and the bad and how it all of led us here - touring the school with our 7th grader 14 years post graduation. It reminded me how the days are long but the years are short. How one single second in time can change a million after it. Im so grateful this school brought us together and that I get to do life with you. ❤️

This school seems like a good fit for Gabriel but we have a lot on the agenda to see. We won’t force him to go where he isn’t interested or won’t excel but so far he’s into it. There’s also no guarantee he will be accepted. We are excited to see where life takes him. by @jazz.offscript

Our tradition every year is that on the first day and last day of school, Emilio & I take off work, walk Gabriel to school and we go to breakfast. This year it looks a little different, on the first day of school I was one month postpartum so we ordered breakfast for delivery. On the last day of school this year, we have our 10 month old baby with us. We also did lunch since Rio needed a nap 😂 We like to do this to talk about how the year went and celebrate the family we created, the kids we are raising and remember that it started with us. I’m so happy I get to do life with you, Emilio. Happy first day of summer, kiddos! by @jazz.offscript

Having the opportunities through companies we work for like @ultabeauty we get to experience some pretty awesome experiences. My bestie @allthatjazz_myn and I got to check out yesterday’s Bulls game in the Ulta suite after I won tickets through my Latino BRG at work. Being Latin and in corporate America and for both of us, women in finance, just means occupying a certain space we were told we shouldn’t or couldn’t. It’s a proud feeling to be able to be in a room of other Latinos who also built a platform of success within Ulta or other places in their career growth. Thanks Ulta for the recognition. It’s improvement to relish in how far we’ve come and motivate us to achieve more! ❤️

We did a thing today!!

Since Rio was born I think we realized quickly our Honda wasn’t as much space as we thought it was. We checked out a couple of cars and fell in love with Volkswagen Atlas. Isn’t she a beauty? So proud of us to be able to call this our family car.

Welcome to the world Rio Santana Fernandez 🩵

Rio was born this morning at 7lbs 15oz via c-section. Unfortunately, he needs a little practice with his breathing so he has been in the NICU ever since. We are so in love but also emotional wrecks as we haven’t been able to hold him yet. Praying he can join us in our post partum room soon. by @jazz.offscript

When I look at our life in the past thirteen years we have spent together, I would never have pictured it here. We have our 11 year old boy and expecting another in few short weeks. Emilio and I drove home today from our baby shower - a beautiful baby shower thrown by my incredible sister and best friends - just talking about how blessed we are. We felt so loved today that we have so many people in our life come together to celebrate the coming of our little boy. The village we have created, the people we are loved by - we are nothing short of lucky.
