The Paradise Stompers

Those who frequent jazz- and blues bars in Ghent, will be familiar with these incredible musicians: Bernd Coene, Matti de Rijcke, Olivier Vander Bauwede and Pieter Mortier.
They are part of the vibrant Jazz and Blues scene in Ghent and Belgium in general and we've lured them over the border to show us how the Belgians party.
If you don't know them and you're curious, this was them killin' it at Big City Blues last year:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WS7rgvFBamw
There will be space to dance and shake that moneymaker, so slip on your dancing shoes and limber up those hips!
Lineup
Bernd Coene: Drums
Matti de Rijcke: Guitar & Vocals
Olivier Vander Bauwede: Blues harp & Vocals
Pieter Mortier: Double Bass

ALVORADA (Brazilian Jazz)

Alvorada brings together the elegance of Brazilian instrumental music with the freedom of jazz improvisation. Their concerts blend original compositions with classics from the choro repertoire, while embracing rhythms such as samba, baião, xote and bossa nova. The result is a vibrant, joyful and sophisticated performance, combining virtuosity, groove and spontaneous musical interaction.

Sunday October 18th 2026:

FLiNK + RiDE & FLY - live at Jazzcafé Dizzy in Rotterdam

Black Fallow Deer

are voice and storyteller Mannie Boor and multi-instrumentalist Joeri Rook.
Born under the influence and in the tradition of the Dutch ‘Levenslied’, (songs drenched in melancholy), and baptized as the sons of ‘Nostalgique Noir’, the long-term friends from the harbor town of Rotterdam are churning songs drawn from real life just like their lowlands predecessors Andre Hazes, Ramses Shaffy and Jacques Brel and peers like Tindersticks and Richard Hawley. Their sound equals smokey, dimly lit music halls, red velvet curtains, laid-back crooning vocals, and delay-driven Gretsch guitars. Musically translating their past into the present, specifically the romantic balladeering. Their first single, ‘It’s Raining in Rotterdam,’ tells exactly that!
