Wake up babe, «No Answer» has new artwork 💫

Some of you know that since becoming Jazz Calls Home in 2020, up until I signed my record deal in 2024, I was not showing my real face to the public.

Jazz Calls Home existed in the cyber world as a series of illustrations, and Simon, the art director at @rexiusrecords encouraged me to change that.

From years and years of work experience having those background roles in the music industry where you are never really meant to be seen, I had unknowingly developed a fear of being perceived as who I am.

Throughout this past couple of years I have been lucky enough to have the support I needed to stop being afraid to be a public face and just show all of who I am to the world with no restrictions.

It has been incredibly healing and transformative for me to make this shift, and I will always be grateful to have taken this step forward.

This was shot at the rez in Odanak, where some of my husband’s family lives. More specifically it was taken at the docks at the Musée des Abénakis. I am wearing my iconic raincoat of course, and these beautiful beadwork earrings. I am happy I got to put a bit of me in there and a bit of my partner too, since our child is both, and I want him to know that his mama loves all of him.

As a mixed kid who grew up with the «white side» of the family, I always felt like I was missing out on an ancestral connection to the other side. I’m happy that my child won’t have to go through that.

I’m so exited to share it with you now, and hope that you like it as much as I do 💖

«Just Jazz» l’eau de parfum.

What does it smell like?

This is actually a men’s cologne my sister in law gifted my husband cause she thought it was funny. I was cleaning up and found it and decided to do a shoot like if this was actually my own perfume and I think it turned out pretty good ✨ 🤩💫

Maybe I’ll have my own perfume some day, but it will most likely won’t be called Just Jazz cause that’s taken 😆

🏆 Elk Audio Challenge winner: T.H.I.R.I. – Musical Agentic Ecosystem

The brief: take Andrew Huang's challenge off the laptop and into hardware.
T.H.I.R.I. is a translation layer between AI agents and music. Instead of asking a language model to guess at music theory, it hands agents real tools: voice leading, harmonic analysis and live Csound synthesis, all validated before a single note plays. Describe the music in plain, musical language and hear it come to life, no tech jargon required.
Built for performers, game developers and anyone who can read between the lines.

The team takes home an Elk Stomp dev kit plus mentorship with the Elk Audio team.
