Scoring Master @godwinloue solo on Rocinha by @wyclefjean.

It's always fun to score Master Godwin, there's always alot to master from him (Articulation, sound, character).

Trying out My Conn 16m 1957 with a Buescher Aristocrat Neck

The neck doesn't sit well though so I have to tweak my embouchure to be able to play the octave ranges smoothly

They are so powerful together

One of the best parts of learning a new tune is trying to capture the player's unique musical language. For me, this is a study in how Master Godwin Loue speaks through his horn on his track, "Pwoblèm Yo." 🎷✨Getting this down wasn’t easy, though. A few weeks back, my Selmer Reference 54 took a bad fall and suffered serious damage. I had to dust off my backup horn for this video—a Marcato Sophia Series. While it’s built like a Mark VI, adjusting to its intonation after playing my Selmer straight for a year was a real challenge. The first two days, I sounded completely off trying to play it the same way. Once I stopped fighting the horn and adapted to its specific voice, it took me about two days to finally lock it in. It turns out, this horn plays absolutely loose and fantastic!

I am on the verge of realizing the distinct color on this setup, which feels within reach.

Implementing the Major scale polytonal movement has been fruitful, and any insights regarding it would be valued.
The country is extremely hot.
