*Long post* 26.2 MILES DONE ✅‼️ Can’t believe I went from running a 5K to my first Marathon in just under a year! Ugh, it’s crazy how things that once felt SO out of reach are now a part of the story. To the triple jumper (aka my younger self) who couldn’t stand anything over 400m - we did it 🥹😭! It honestly felt like so many things were going wrong the closer I got to race day: - IT band issues - TERRIBLE left knee pain to the point where I thought I tore something - Not feeling well a few days before - Random, sharp pains in my RIGHT knee TWO days before Honestly, the goal going into the race was “just finish”. Not only did I finish but I was on pace for 4:20 up until mile 21. So - I still have beef with those last 5 miles, my quads, & whoever threw those the hills in AT THE END. (course was already hilly throughout) I guess that means I have to run another one🤷🏾‍♀️🥶 Next time I’ll make my plan longer than 13 weeks and add in some strength training. Ultimate Peach medal was also secured 🍑 - Peachtree Road race (6.2) - PNC 10 miler (10) - Invesco Half Marathon (13.1) - Publix Marathon (26.2) Total 55.5 ✅ #atlantatrackclub #publixmarathon #atlanta #fitness #marathontraining by @jazzyphaeee.722
