For the first time in U.S. history, Black-employer businesses surpassed 200,000 firms. And in 2023, those companies generated revenues of $249 billion and paid salaries of $69 billion via the U.S. Census Bureau.

The stats fuel our 3rd list, @forbesblk_ 25: Top Businesses to Watch.

Over the past few months, we searched to find what private companies are making it happen by growing the economy and creating jobs. We found diverse businesses serving huge supply chains, building data centers, creating health care solutions, and running hospitality empires.

“Solutions that are simple, elegant and also have a big impact in healthcare is what we’re looking for,” says Tuoyo Louis, co-founder venture capital firm Seae Ventures.

Tuoyo and his partner Jason Robart joined The Enterprise Zone podcast at Nasdaq to discuss the firm’s $80 million raise to invest in health care startups.
