Congratulations to Jacob Baird, PGA on his selection as Co-Assistant Professional of the Year.

Throughout this past season, Jacob has gone above and beyond the call of duty for our Section, serving as Assistant Association Vice President and Eastern Chapter Secretary. From his strategic role as Vice Captain of the 2025 Philbrick Cup Team to his tireless work mentoring PGA Associates in our educational workshops, Jacob exemplifies the spirit of “service to the professional” that defines this award.

At the facility level, Jacob’s impact at The Patriot Golf Club has been equally remarkable, setting a high bar for player development and engagement. In 2025 alone, he managed a thriving junior ecosystem that reached 84 “Lil Patriots” and 87 Operation 36 participants, alongside a Brass Practice Club for competitive teens. His adult programming was just as robust, attracting 85 participants to his Ladies Golf Association clinics and delivering advanced green-reading instruction as one of only two certified AimPoint instructors in Oklahoma.

Jacob will be recognized at our South Central PGA Award Banquet on February 22nd.

The AimPoint momentum is building at Cedar Ridge! ⛳️🌲

I was fortunate to spend a couple of hours with Nathan on Friday, introducing him to @aimpointgolf !

This was my first AimPoint lesson at Cedar Ridge Country Club, and I couldn’t be more excited to bring what I believe is the best green-reading system in golf to a new facility!

Nathan is a roughly 6-handicap golfer looking to shave a few more strokes off his game. He felt that developing a consistent system for reading greens could be a valuable addition to his putting, and we spent two hours doing just that! He left with a new approach, a better understanding of green reading, and a system he can trust moving forward!

With two more AimPoint lessons already on the books for next week, I’m excited to see the momentum continue to grow at Cedar Ridge!

If you’re interested in learning AimPoint and taking your putting to the next level, I’d love to help you with your game!

Thanks again for coming out, Nathan! Happy hunting out there! 👊🏼⛳️

I was fortunate to spend part of my Monday morning at the @southcentralpga Fall Teaching Summit! ⛳️

It was a great opportunity to hear presentations and demonstrations from @metcalfputting , @ejpfistergolf , and @chasecoopergolf . Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and putting in the work to make the day valuable for everyone in attendance!

I’m sorry I wasn’t able to stick around for the entire summit and the live lessons later in the day, but it looked like an awesome afternoon full of great information.

A huge thank you to @jpygolf for organizing the event, and to @coznok and @rrodypga for hosting us!

Always grateful for opportunities to keep learning, connect with other PGA Professionals, and bring a few new ideas back to the lesson tee. 👊⛳️ taken in Southern Hills Country Club by @jbairdpga

Excited for a new chapter!

This week I officially started my new role as PGA Assistant Golf Professional/Player Development Lead at Cedar Ridge Country Club!

I’m looking forward to helping grow the player development programs, giving more private instruction, and continuing to learn and contribute on the operational side of the golf business.

After four incredible years at The Patriot, I’m grateful for everything that experience gave me and all the relationships I built along the way. I’m equally excited for what’s ahead at Cedar Ridge and the opportunity to keep growing as a PGA Professional.

A huge thank you to Matthew Novozinsky, PGA, @robyano , and @dustinkennedy.pga , for believing in me and giving me this opportunity!

Been a busy few weeks at The Patriot! ⛳️

Here are a few lesson tee snippets and a little bit of everything that’s been going on around the Club lately. It’s been a full stretch of teaching, player development, tournaments, events, and plenty of time on the golf course!

We’re supposedly rounding the corner on another busy golf season… but I’ll believe it when I see it! 😂

Grateful for all the time spent on the lesson tee and with our members this season. Let’s keep it rolling! 🏌️‍♂️ taken in The Patriot Golf Club by @jbairdpga

Just like that, our 2026 Club Championship is in the books! 🏆⛳️

This is always one of my favorite weeks of the year, and one I start planning for all the way back in November!

Over the course of the weekend, we crowned our Men’s Gross & Net Club Champions through stroke-play qualifying and match play, our Ladies Club Champion after 36 holes of stroke play, and our Junior Club Champions across our 14–17 and 10–13 divisions.

There are A LOT of moving parts that go into a week like this; tee sheets, brackets, scoring, rules, course setup, communication, food & beverage, and everything else happening behind the scenes, but that’s what makes Sunday afternoon so rewarding.

When the final putts drop and you get to hand out those trophies, it makes every bit of preparation worth it! 🏆

A huge thank you to everyone who competed and made this year’s Championship special, and an even bigger thank you to my teammates at The Patriot for all the work and support throughout the week. It takes a team to pull something like this off! @_wes.oliver_ @anoklahoma_stylist @dustin_hasley @sir_harrison007

Weeks like this are a great reminder of how lucky I am to be a PGA Golf Professional. I love what I get to do! ⛳️

These last few weeks have been a whirlwind between Junior Camps, our Member-Member, and the heart of the golf season—but it’s been incredibly rewarding getting back to doing what I love most: helping my students improve. ⛳️

It’s been fun watching everyone put in the work, fine-tune their swings, and build confidence as we head toward Club Championship season. You can definitely feel the excitement around the club, and it’s clear everyone is putting in the preparation to play their best.

A special shoutout to our intern as he gets ready to head back to @methodistuniversity @sir_harrison007 . Thank you for all of your hard work this summer—you’ve been a huge help, and I know you’ll have a great year!

To all of my students: thank you for trusting me with your games and for grinding through the Oklahoma heat. Keep putting in the work; the low scores are coming. 📈🔥

Today was a special one on the putting green.

After many conversations, I finally had the opportunity to spend some time with @robertraborngolf helping him dial in his @aimpointgolf green reading. Robert and I could talk golf for hours, and if he hadn’t had a lesson immediately afterward, I’m convinced we would have!

Robert serves as the Director of Player Development at @oakscountryclub , and I’m fortunate to call him a dear friend. We first met at the @southcentralpga Teaching Summit back in 2021, where we connected after realizing we were both headed to the @scottcowxcertified certification that @ejpfistergolf was hosting. It’s amazing how quickly time flies.

Today we worked through short, medium, and long single-break putts before finishing with my favorite reads of all; double breakers. It was a great couple of hours talking, learning, and sharpening our skills together.

Thank you for trusting me with two hours of your time, Robert. I can’t wait to see your hard work in action at the Philbrick Cup this October!

We had the privilege of hosting our first @southcentralpga Junior Interclub Match yesterday at The Patriot! It was an incredible day filled with great competition, outstanding sportsmanship, and some fantastic golf from these talented junior players.

While Mother Nature cut a few rounds short, resulting in a 13-hole competition, it didn’t take away from what was a wonderful event. A huge thank you to all of the players, families, and professionals from Meadowbrook CC, @hillcrestbville @hillcrestcc_golfshop , @oakscountryclub @oaksgolfshop , @firstteetulsa , and @crcc_golfshop @crccok for making the trip to compete.

Thank you for allowing us to host and utilize our new forward Eagle Tee Markers! We hope everyone enjoyed their time at The Patriot, and we can’t wait to welcome you all back again soon! taken in The Patriot Golf Club by @jbairdpga

I had the opportunity to spend a couple of hours yesterday introducing Cooper to the world of @aimpointgolf ! ⛳️

Cooper has been working hard on his full swing, and after making great progress, he was ready to take the next step in lowering his scores. We both knew that adding AimPoint to his game was the right move.

One of the best things about AimPoint is that it’s a skill you’ll use on virtually every hole you play. Learning to accurately read greens builds confidence, improves speed control, and helps eliminate the guesswork on the putting green.

I’m excited to watch Cooper put his new skills to work during the rest of his summer tournament schedule and as he heads into his fall school golf season. I know he’s going to save strokes!

If you’re serious about becoming a better golfer, don’t just practice your swing, improve the part of the game you’ll use on every hole. AimPoint can be a game changer.

📩 Send me a message to learn more about private AimPoint instruction or to schedule your own session!

Spent the morning with the one and only Dan Griffin getting him dialed in with @aimpointgolf !

Dan is a true caddie legend in Northeast Oklahoma, having carried countless bags at Southern Hills and occasionally joining us at The Patriot. He’s one of the hardest-working people I know, and it was a pleasure introducing him to the AimPoint system.

Dan is doing two loops a day this week for Swingaroo, so if you’re fortunate enough to have him on your bag, be ready to make a few more putts!

Thanks for your time today, Dan. Always a pleasure!

I had the opportunity to spend part of Friday morning introducing Josh (@joshwilsonlw ) to the wonderful world of @aimpointgolf ! ⛳️

We knocked out his introductory lesson, and he’s already putting it to good use on the greens. I apologize in advance to anyone who ends up on the receiving end of the smack talk, because Josh is about to start shooting even lower scores! 😎

Great work, Josh!

If you’re serious about improving your putting, lowering your scores, and gaining confidence on the greens, come see me and let’s get you introduced to the world of AimPoint. 📈🏌️‍♂️
