Scout made his way to heaven a couple days ago and I think I’ve cried enough tears to flood our house. He was the most challenging, stubborn, unique dog I’ve ever experienced and we loved him even harder for it. He didn’t let very many people get to know the real him, but he was fiercely loyal, goofy, and affectionate. He was wild and excited to come on every adventure with us. We surely feel the big empty space in our hearts, our home, and our daily life without him… but I hope he’s running around up there with our Harley girl. We will love you forever Mr. Bear 😭🪽 by @jbaum34

March highlights: enjoying quality time with people I love, eating real gooood, drinking frothy coffees, working with cool clients, making time for fun and hobbies even when I feel “too busy” or overwhelmed with work, growing huge carrots, and turning another year older (not really a highlight lol). 🌞 by @jbaum34

8 weeks ago, we went on our dream elopement and honeymoon trip in French Polynesia. The depth of emotion and gratitude to be able to do something like this is hard to put into words.

We wanted this trip to be our greatest adventure yet and I think it’s safe to say we accomplished that. 6,000 miles of travel (one way) with a wedding dress and a suit for a private ceremony on the lagoon with the man I will love forever.

Then to top it all off, getting to celebrate by doing what we do best… exploring and adventuring in nature together. Hiking, lush jungle, driving around without a plan, swimming with humpback whales, trying new foods, and eating dessert with every meal.

To try to sum up these memories into a 2-minute video is impossible, but I will never forget this feeling. I hope we keep dreaming big 🤍 by @jbaum34

I’ve been mentally preparing for this heartbreak for years… and yet I could have never anticipated how deeply sad and empty I feel today.

My mom let me get Harley when I was 15 years old and going through some really dark times. It’s safe to say that she was my angel. We became fiercely codependent and now, 15 years later, I have no regrets.

After moving 5 times together and commuting for several years, my dream was for Harley to stick around long enough for us to buy a house with a yard that she could settle into.

My dream came true because she got to enjoy a solid 1.5 years here. She was the queen of the house.

Despite all of the preventative measures I could possibly try… Harley’s legs were failing her, so I made the most difficult decision of my life to escort her across the rainbow bridge while she still had a happy glimmer in her eyes. She got to eat endless treats and take her final breaths in our little backyard, peacefully, with Kev and I by her side.

Right now I’m not sure how the Harley-sized hole in my heart will ever heal, but I am so grateful for everything she did for me. I love you forever, Harley girl.
