This morning I preached a message called “Only by the Blood”. It’s going to turn into a series because I barely got it introduced.

After service a sweet lady came up to me who’s only been attending a short time. She was in tears. She told me, “I’m 72 years old, and I’ve never heard that preached like that. I’ve struggled with condemnation my whole life. That just set me free.”

The reason I’m sharing that isn’t to brag on me, it’s to point to the fact that we as the Church (all of us) haven’t done justice to telling believers what the Blood has done for them, and will do for them when they put their faith in it!

I heard the Lord say,
When one generation becomes satisfied with having church without the moving of the Holy Spirit,
The next generation will be scared of the move of the Spirit, And the third generation will shun church altogether.
This is how genuine moves of God become dead churches that eventually dry up and shut down. by @jbrandont

Because the algorithm knows I’m a Pastor, I see ads 24/7 for church fundraising groups and schemes. I despise that garbage and won’t be taking part.

I never beg for money. I never put pressure on my congregation. When preachers put pressure on the people, it’s a sign they have misplaced faith and believe the people are the answer to a financial problem and the source of funding. Neither is true.

God is our source. I keep the vision before the people and teach them what the Bible says about giving and living generously. If they choose to do the Word, the Word will work for them, and if they don’t, that’s between them and God. It’s not my job to force anyone to do anything. I’m to deliver to the people the revelation of scripture that the Holy Spirit has given to me.

Pastors, there’s freedom in giving the care to the Lord and giving the Word to the people. We err in attempting to give the care to the people. by @jbrandont
