Went for clean and simple on this one after it had been vacant for 10 years. Updated flooring, cabinets, and bathrooms. We got rid of the wood fireplace and most anything on the outside we could. The one thing we made sure to keep though was all the blueberry bushes in the backyard.

This 3 BR and 2 BA shaped up quite nice and is one of the latest additions to the short-term rentals we have available in Raeford/Fayetteville. Back on the search for the next one. by @jbrigmon125

10+ years vacant…

Just closed on this one today and will be working to bring it back to life. Possibly the most excited I’ve been over a home purchase.

MIXED CARVE SEQUENCE

1 of 8 compulsory s sequences in Freefly.

The move begins when both performers are head-up (HU) facing away from the camera with a grip. Both performers carve HU outface for a minimum of 180 degrees, then go under the camera flyer across their belly into head-down (HD) outface continuing to carve a minimum of 180 degrees in the opposite direction of the first carve. Sequence ends.

The visual… the performers back should be shown throughout the entire sequence. Both carves are shown on horizon.

This compulsory is a newer one and presents a few challenges with the speed change from HU to crossing the belly back into HD.

Things to try during your next trainings:
- keep the HU carve short, maybe only 90 degrees so the fall rate doesn’t go up too much
- bring the knees in during the transition across the belly to help stay small keeping the fall rate up more
- keep a strong grip and keep it close to each other so performers don’t get too stretched
- have a signal for when the transition under will happen so the camera can time their move across the top

There are a lot of ways to fly this move so experiment with some different techniques of signaling the transition and timing of the movement.

This wraps up the compulsory sequences for Freefly. Hope these videos help your training in the future! by @jbrigmon125

2024 Freefly Free Routine

This was our first international competition as a Freefly team that started in the beginning of 2023. We set out with a goal to bring a more freestyle approach to the Freefly discipline flying a true 3 way. We spent quite a bit of time working on fundamental flows earlier in the year, experimenting with new ways to interact with the camera we haven’t seen before. We’ve learned a lot over these two years of flying together and thankful for the opportunity to represent the USA at the World Championship. Enjoy our final product over the coastline of Beaufort, NC!

Thanks to all those who supported us this year, the new people we’ve met throughout our training, and other teams for putting in the work to compete!

A big shoutout and thank you to @crystalcoastskydiving and @paracletexp for hosting worlds this year! by @jbrigmon125

2024 Freestyle World Champions

This year was full on for both of us all the way to world’s flying for 2 teams in freestyle and freefly. We wanted to bring new elements for both the camera and performer combined together as well as specific timing with our connections which in the end made for some unique visuals. It’s always a cool journey building free routines and working to push the sport forward. Hope you all enjoy our final product over the gorgeous background of @crystalcoastskydiving

Our team is much larger than 2 and consider many to be apart of the Ascend team. We don’t say it enough throughout the year but we truly are thankful for everyone who has supported us along the way! Thank you!

2-WAY EAGLE SEQUENCE

1 of 8 compulsory sequences in Freefly

The move begins when one performer is head-up (HU) and the other is head-down (HD) facing each other with the camera showing the performers from the side. The HD performer then goes under while the HU goes over. This motion continues until the performers are back in their original positions. During the vertical orbit (eagle) that the performers are flying the camera does a synchronized roll with the performers.

The visual… the move should be shown from the performers side throughout the sequence. The camera roll should match the vertical orbit so that the background moves and the performers appear still.

Here are a few strategies to try during your next training:
- have a good setup, this move can have a tendency to drift as the HD person goes under. This can mess up the visual and lose the sight of the performers side. To fix this we make the HU flyer create some forward drive before the orbit begins which keeps the orbit more in place. Without the HU flyers drive the orbit seems to just move around the HU flyer.
- this move doesn’t require a straight body position during the eagle so we break at the hips quite a bit for the HU flyer going over to control the move during their burble and potential faster wind speed while being belly to earth.
- have one flyer reference the camera in the beginning to make sure heading is good and the other performer can match

Hope this helps and let me know if you have any questions for your training! by @jbrigmon125
