𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟳𝟬'𝘀 𝗗𝗶𝗲𝘁: 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗜𝘁 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂? - Josie Gibson immerses herself in the food, drink and health culture of the 70s.

The first episode of the two-part series airs Wednesday 7th January at 7pm on Channel 5.

I loved planning, producing and shooting this scene (and this series!) with hilarious Josie Gibson and the lovely Dr James Brouner at Kingston University!

We got to meet so many great people on Josie's journey of discovey, in her native Bristol, Bath and London too! It was a pleasure to be part of creating this fun series for Orchard Studios.

Tune in to see Josie start her exciting 70s escapades tomorrow night (Wed 7th Jan) AND THEN don't miss a very fun episode 2 the following evening (Thurs 8th Jan at 7pm), which I served as the Edit Producer for too!

Well, that was a lot of fun! The CanalSlam has long been an idea and I am so happy to have completed the challenge last weekend. 420 miles of running over three races across 12-weeks - GUCR (145 miles), KACR (145 miles), and LLCR (130 miles). Just to top it off, I managed to finish 3rd overall in 93h:06m. Thank you to @canalracecic for putting on an unbelievable series of races, your support and encouragement at every point is what all future races will have to live up to. Thank you to @sarahbrouner and my wonderful children for picking me up off the canal paths at the end of each race, not a pleasant job I am sure 😂. Also, thanks to Lee Morgan for the chat and company along the way - so happy to share the adventure. by @jbrouner11

Incredibly proud of the work my husband, @jbrouner11 , is doing right now — leading important change in the research of women’s sport.

For too long, women’s bodies have been overlooked or underrepresented in medical and sports research. James and his colleagues are helping to shift that narrative, making sure the unique physiological needs of women are no longer treated as an afterthought, but are central to how we study performance, recovery, injury, and long-term health.

This work isn’t just about sport — it’s about equity, representation, and a better understanding of how to support women at every level of physical activity, from elite athletes to everyday movers.

It’s inspiring to watch this change happen — and even more so to see the role he’s playing in it. Super work JB! ♥️

After countless discussions about the physical demands of breaking, sports scientist James Brouner decided to take our curiosity into the lab to run some tests. We wanted to find out exactly how much force goes into pulling off moves and landing them. Using Qualisys 3D motion capture, we analysed movement patterns and techniques. We also used a force platform (Kistler FP) to measure ground reaction forces during execution and landing. This allowed us to identify key loading points that could lead to injuries. It was fascinating to see how much power goes into the body upon impact—one hit was over 300kg! No wonder I feel like an 80-year-old man the day after a hard session.

We also assessed pelvic and lumbar spine mobility with ViMove (DorsaVi) to ensure optimal core stability during performance. It’s incredibly interesting to see how breaking affects the body, reminding me just how physically demanding Breaking truly is. taken in Kingston University by @jbrouner11

What a weekend! A fantastic 145-mile run up the Grand Union Canal from London to Birmingham with @canalracecic, finishing in 6th place. Amazing organisation and support from all. A massive thank you to Keith and the team, particularly to all the volunteers at the aid stations on route, always encouraging and couldn’t do more to help every runner. Also, a massive thank you to @sarah_b_nw10 for scrapping me up at the end 😋. taken in Gas Street Basin by @jbrouner11
