If you see something, say something. Too many people have fallen victim to abuse while others noticed the warning signs but stayed silent. You never know what someone may be going through behind closed doors. Speak up, check in, listen, and donโ€™t ignore the signs. by @jbsmemorial

He took her physically, but he didnโ€™t erase her or stop the love she was receiving, and still receives. She did such a good job and is constantly praised for her work, Earning a Remembrance Award for best film of the year. She was in such constant fear. Her friend Tracy recalled the way she behaved while she and her father was at Judeโ€™s home. Tracy couldnโ€™t wait to leave. Judith knew she was going to die, as every adult in her life knew, too. She was a baby and knew she was going to be murdered and no one stopped it before it happened. by @jbsmemorial

Victims of abuse arenโ€™t taken seriously until itโ€™s too late. Many knew about the abuse and didnโ€™t help Maria or tell the police until she was shot dead while trying to protect her little girl. ๐๐„๐‹๐ˆ๐„๐•๐„ ๐“๐‡๐„ ๐•๐ˆ๐‚๐“๐ˆ๐Œ๐’. She never finished elementary school, never graduated from her 4th-grade class, never entered 5th grade with her friends, never enjoyed the rest of her summer break, never got to see her own cartoon characters become so loved, and never got to grow up. (1978-1988) Enjoy that forever rest, JB by @jbsmemorial

Thirty-eight years on 7.25.88
-
Somehow the world still feels the echo of two lives that shouldโ€™ve had so much more time. Today isnโ€™t just a date on a calendar; itโ€™s the reminder of a little girl with a sailor dress and bright brown eyes, and a mother who tried her best in the middle of a fight no one shouldโ€™ve had to survive. Itโ€™s the reminder of how quickly innocence can be taken, and how many can watch and not act. Today 38 years ago her mother would make her final act to protect her daughter from the man who was supposed to protect and love them both. Today 38 years ago her mother would be the last person to fight to protect them both. At this time, 7:8 pm Thirty eighth years ago, Judith would get off of her pink little bicycle and place it near the flower garden of her homeโ€™s front door steps after riding her bicycle around the block all day, laughing and giggling. Sheโ€™d step off her little bike after her mom called her inside and went into that home to never be seen again after that night. Judith spent her last hours alive on this day in 1988. She ate dinner, showered, and went to bed, said goodnight to her mommy. She never got to wake up, never got to ride her bicycle the next day, never got to enjoy the rest of her summer. She left this world not knowing what was above her and what he held above her tiny body. And within seconds, the little girl who was so loved, who loved so big, who wanted to be loved was taken off the earth. 38 years later, please stop letting todayโ€™s children become another Judith; they deserve to grow. Judith Eva, I hope heaven is the happiest place you now rest. Much love to you, little one. by @jbsmemorial
