Wonderful experience sharing Keeping Secrets at #AViewfromAllSides conference for family support professionals from across Massachusetts. Performance was followed by panel with @jbvetter @lyndillies & Tony Rizzuto. Thank you @Trust4Kids organizers! by @jbvetter

An important reminder that just because it’s written in a book doesn’t mean it’s true 🫶🏻 vulnerable discussion with @jbvetter the writer and star of @keepingsecretsshow 🤫🤫🤫🤫

‘This is what I want, but this is what I don’t want…’ ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Jim Vetter, from the age of six, had a fascination with magic. By the age of 13 he had joined the International Brotherhood of Magicians where he came into contact with a much older mentor, Baron Von Libby (Dave).

Vetter became employed in a local magic shop, succeeded eventually by another up-and-coming magician, who was behind a Young Magicians’ Club, David Oliver.

Vetter conveys this story with all the cosiness of a fireside chat until the story turns to Oliver being arrested. Vetter begins the show with magic tricks, before he discusses the tactics of a predator.

Having to keep secrets, as the Magician’s Code tells you to, is ripe ground for keeping mum in such situations. With a few props, lighting, and projection, it manages to convey its own bleakness.

Performing in Edinburgh gives new meaning to the idea of something being “old history” 😜

Arrived in Edinburgh today. Our wonderful poster, designed by Alister Vincent D'Monte, is right out front at Surgeons’ Hall. That’s where they’re constructing the theater where the show will be performed.
