Thank you @kcsourcelink_ and @umkcinnovates for organizing such an incredible event for the KC regional final of the @startupworldcup.

It was an honor to pitch @planetarytalent for the regional title. Even though we didn’t come out on top, this day will be one I remember forever.

Congratulations to our regional champion: Nick with @lovelifesciences! Well deserved. 🤝 (and fellow @pipelineentrepreneurs member 😉)

Before ChatGPT, the em dash was one of my favorite writing techniques. Hardly anyone knew how to use one properly, so slipping it into a sentence always felt like a small creative flex.

Now, the moment people see an em dash, they assume A.I. wrote it.

An entire generation is going to grow up avoiding one of the best punctuation marks in the English language because a chatbot ruined its reputation.

I was reminded recently that values are more important than revenue.

Customers, by virtue of their dollars, have the ability to push you in different directions, and when a customer is pushing against your values as a company, it takes courage to hold the line.

If you don’t stand firm, and instead you follow the money, you’ll look back one day and realize you pivoted your business without ever realizing it. by @jc_hardt

Conversing with @janzenmarkjr today reminded me that being an entrepreneur is about continuing to move forward, no matter the ups or downs.

I've observed that most people treat design as a polishing step. They say, "We'll build the thing and then once it's working we'll do a 'design pass.'"

But something I've learned from years of building is that the best products, brands, and companies treat design as the starting point. They let the creative process guide what to build and they architect solutions with intentionality.

At @planetarytalent, we've always emphasized starting with design thinking. We don't ask, "What should this thing do?" We ask instead, "What would delight our customers?"

I'm proud that the things we build have purpose and meaning. Our Lead Engineer, @grbellar, calls them "the little delights." People can feel the authenticity and the craft behind what we do, and that's what makes it special. by @jc_hardt

Every once in a while you have to reinvent yourself. Progress requires constant personal evolution. Over the past two years, I've been experiencing just that.

If you haven't seen me much, it's because I've kept my head down, focusing on building and growth. But it feels like we are entering a new chapter in the story, and it was time for a personal rebrand.
