I turn 50 today. Here is a photo of me at 18 playing in my old band CABLE. Time flies. Also, I had great hair. Better than yours in fact. by @jcaxide

No band has had a bigger impact on my life than Neurosis. If you follow me here you probably know why and how. 3 years ago I thought they came to a horrible, confusing, and depressing end. Yesterday we were shown that was not the case when out of nowhere they dropped this incredible album. Moments like this are the light amidst all this darkness. Oh yeah, and my old bandmate and friend joined the band. by @jcaxide

This was posted by the mighty @benjaminkoller earlier today.photo was taken in Tokyo on the Converge/Mastodon/isis Japanese tour. We were wasted on our way to a karaoke bar where we got even more wasted and Brent busted the place up a bit. I was convinced we were all going to jail. Although he’s giving me the finger in this photo Brent was the best part of that trip. What a guy. There will never be other one like that. Photo by @creamale by @jcaxide

RIP Brent Hines. Had some unforgettable times with this guy. by @jcaxide
Thanks to @vveedian for reminding me that “Wavering Radiant” the 5th and final album from Isis came out 16 years yesterday. While I have some mixed feelings about this album I do feel like it was a good one to go out on. Recording it with @eviljoebarresi was also one of the best times I’ve ever had in the studio. “threshold of Transformation” wasn’t written to be the last song people would hear from us but it ended up being kind of a perfect goodbye. Grateful to any and all who still listen. by @jcaxide
Another photo I found on my hard drive. This is of Palms. Taken before our very first show at the Belly Up Tavern in 2013. I was quite nervous. Palms was short lived but we managed to make a record that some people liked and some people didn’t. It’s not perfect but I’m glad it exists. by @jcaxide
Isis on what would be our last trip to Australia in 2010. It was a good one. Also, I look goofy. by @jcaxide
Yesterday I listen to the first record I ever played on. My first band Milk Toast. I had not seen it or heard it in about 30 years.I was 16 years old. Not bad for a bunch of kids. Sometimes it’s nice to remember where it all started. by @jcaxide
Isis with our friend Luke Scarola during the recording of our album Celestial. I think. Had a great time making this record …I think. by @jcaxide
