Went to the @thesodburyyarnover last weekend and discovered the best sewing shop ever!Thank you @koalakreations for a perfectly curated shop and your lovely welcome. I came away with a couple of metres of denim with which to make a copy of my favourite shop-bought pinafore and some @robertkaufman for the pockets and facings and a small pack of @libertyfabrics just in case.Eventually we made it to the yarn show itself and met Lorna sporting a patchwork pocket (read the brilliant book by Barbara Burnam and Ariana Fennetaux for a full history)Bought some yarn from @bluebellyarns and caught up with Becca@secondcityyarns was there too with her wonderful wall of colour along with @fernhillfibre By then we were in need of a cup of tea and a pause in Hatherell’s yard agreed that it had been well worth the journey from Dorset#yarnfestival #sewingsupplies #knittingyarn #chippingsodbury #knittingadventures by @jcgstitches

Fantastic walk today thanks to @tessofthevale Monkton Combe, Tucking Mill, climbed up to the viaduct, through Combe Down tunnel, down to Lyncombe Vale and back up over the railway to Perryvale, down the hill to Prior Park and a welcome cup of tea, up the hill to Claverton Down and back down the other side to Monkton Combe.Fantastic views and highly recommended #outforawalk #bathwalk #monktoncombe #somerset #combedowntunnel by @jcgstitches

An enjoyable book from the library to begin a new year of reading.The Sewing Machine by @nataliesfergie tells the story of a Singer sewing machine and the part it plays in the story of a family.Here is the book resting on my 1919 Singer treadle along with the Sylko cotton reels bought by one of the characters #singersewingmachine #sylko #socialhistory #sewing #loveyourlibrary by @jcgstitches
