What even is @jcileaders anyway?

Day Two of the @jciuk National Convention kicked off with our very own Local President @marketingabby trying to answer that question. In this interactive session we looked at the structure of JCI, and the opportunities to use it as a framework to grow your skills.

In the second half of the session we heard from our National President @rosegreen.adventures , @jciireland National President Dean Swift, and @jcieurope VP @tijana_aradjan about their JCI journeys and the advice they’d give newcomers to make the most of their time.

This was a pre-registration session so we were pleased to see how many people joined in - is this something we should bring back to Manchester in 2027 for our local members?

After 10 months of work the Manchester Young Talent Awards 2026 are over and I couldn’t be more proud of what the @jcimanchester team accomplished.

1000+ whatsapps, voicenotes, and meetings to make it happen

There is no business backing or paid team behind JCI so when we say we run this AS young professionals, FOR young professionals, I mean it. We consider location, communication, ease of access, opening up the nominations to wider audiences, and how to make sure each attendee feels special.

It’s all worth it to see the difference the encouragement makes in the careers of people really making a difference in our community. I was sat in the shortlisters’ seat just three years ago and it is my immense privilege to be able to chair this year’s event to give a little bit of that back.

I’ll be posting thank you’s for the next few weeks I’m sure, but I had to start with a post with all the @jcileaders contributors to this year. Whether nominated for their excellence, on the organizing committee, or doing the unrelenting job of judging, we had it all. Nights like this make me so proud to be part of something bigger than myself, and I hope we did Manchester proud!

Last night’s Manchester Young Talent Awards 2026!!
Where did the year go?

I was beyond delighted when I was asked to be a judge for the second year running and also deliver an award! Along side some incredible people including the one and only Tara @thconsultancy who also did an incredible job supporting venue finding for the awards itself

The whole @jcimanchester team are just fabulous. The passion, dedication and energy they put into bringing people together and celebrating our city’s talent is something really special.

Manchester really does have the most incredible community, and nights like this are a reminder of just how much talent, opportunity and inspiration we have on our doorstep.

Huge congratulations to all the finalists, winners and everyone involved in making the evening such a success. You should all be incredibly proud!

And of course massive shout out the JCI President @theachromat @marketingabby by @jcimanchester
