TOMORROW : Print Party: A Quick & Fun Intro to Printmaking | Sat. July 25 | 1:00 - 4:30 PMJoin us for Print Party, an open printmaking session where you can try your hand at printmaking in a fun, collaborative setting. No experience is needed and all materials are provided! Instructor @nickdornellas will guide you through the process of creating a collagraph, which is a versatile printing method where a textured plate is inked and passed through a press. Different textures hold varying amounts of ink, producing different tonal effects. Materials such as wallpaper, leaves, fabrics, tapes, and threads, among others, can be adhered to the plate for texture. Nick will demonstrate how to create a variety of prints using a single plate, create gradients with ink rolling, and explore the diverse textural qualities achievable with graphite paper. This will be my last Print Party for quite a while, so I would love to fill the room for one more afternoon of experimenting, making, and printing together.No experience is needed, and all materials are provided! I’ll guide you through creating a monotype collagraph plate using textured materials such as wallpaper, leaves, fabric, tape, and thread. Kids Printmaking Camp starts this coming Tuesday July 21-24 | 1:00 to 2:30Over the course of four fun sessions, students will explore different printmaking methods to create their own original artworks. Each class will focus on a method of printmaking and a specific theme or master artist. Activities will be adapted according to age level, allowing all students to partake in the fun. All supplies provided! Ages 5 to 12.Session 1: Monotypes: Students will learn how to create their own colorful monotype prints using ink, a variety of tools, and the printing press. Session 2: Foam printing: Students will be introduced to the concepts of relief printmaking using foam board and colored inks Session 3. Collagraphs : Students will create their own collagraphs by collaging materials onto a printing plate, applying ink and printing them with the printing press.
