Tonight, we stood in front of the United Nations and demanded that world leaders take action against antisemitism.

Alongside more than a hundred partners and interfaith allies, including @jcrcny, @adl_national and @adl_nynj, and @ajc.global and @ajcnewyork, our community showed that we want more than condemnations after tragedies — we need action plans, security funding, and accountability to prevent the rampant spread of antisemitism and its deadly consequences.

Thank you again to everyone who joined us, Jews of all denominations who stood proudly Jewish and our faith-based allies, to say: “No more excuses.” by @jcrcny

Rosh Hashanah reminds us that we shouldn’t gather only in moments of crisis…we should gather in moments of joy, too.

Grateful to Congressman George Latimer, County Executive Ken Jenkins, State Senator Shelley Mayer, Elliot Forchheimer and the Westchester Jewish Council, the JCC of Westchester, UJA-Federation, our JCRC-NY board members, county legislators, and community partners for a beautiful celebration of community, connection, apples, honey and the timeless sound of the shofar.

We even put the apples through a highly scientific rubric:

🍯 Sweetness: Does it stand on its own, or does it need a lot of honey?
🍎 Crunch: Strong enough to survive a Westchester budget meeting?
🗺️ Geographic unity: Can NYC and Westchester agree on the best apple?

Happy Constitution Day! Today marks the signing of the U.S. Constitution back in 1787. It set up the framework for our country, but here’s the thing: a government "by the people" requires the people to actually participate.

The absolute best way to protect our rights and shape our future is by voting. It’s not just a right—it’s our responsibility to make sure our voices are heard and our communities are represented.

We were proud to co-lead a meaningful celebration of Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year, alongside the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island @jccgci, with elected officials, faith leaders, and community members. Over apples and honey, pomegranates and round challahs, we listened to the sound of the shofar and reflected on what it means to enter a new year with new aspirations and even deeper gratitude. It was especially moving to be joined by over 20 Holocaust survivors, who proudly sang a rendition of "God Bless America," a reminder that for so many, the United States has provided freedom worth giving thanks for in this year of 5787.
