A shout out to all the aunties out there building the village.I used to wonder if at some point I'd experience baby fever. But after spending a week with my high school best friend and her newborn, I've realized I'm genuinely content just being an auntie.I don't feel called to motherhood at all. What I feel called to is being part of the village.There's a version of contribution that doesn't require biological motherhood. It requires presence, resources, perspective. And for a lot of us, that feels more aligned than anything else.I think we've been sold a narrow definition of purpose when it comes to children. Like if you're not raising them, you're on the sidelines. But often, the people who show children what's possible are the ones outside the parent role.That's what I want to be for my niece, and that's enough for me.What role do you play in your village? by @jcruel

First off, let me acknowledge that I am a high-earner so this math might look a little different for you. But the primary reason I'm able to save the majority of my income is because I've refused to let my lifestyle scale with my salary.As your income grows, so can your expenses. Then suddenly you're making six figures but still living pay check to pay check. I've avoided that by making specific choices: - I've minimized housing expenses because I live in one of my investment properties.- I drive a Kia instead of a luxury car - and it's almost paid off. I don't get sucked into the pressure to look wealthy because I prioritize building long-term wealth.I'm sharing my financial breakdown because I know other women are working through this too. Whether you're saving 10% or 50%, the discipline is the same: don't let your spending rise just because your income does. More importantly, pay your future self first. by @jcruel

Imagine having to plead your case to get back into your own home 😭Squatters rights are CRAZY - in NJ, it literally comes down to how long they've been there. If it’s 30 days or more, then you have to go to court to evict them. 🙄 That legal distinction is the only reason I got my property back.Also: get yourself a nosy neighbor. That man is the reason I still have this home.Part 3 is coming & I'm sharing how much this all cost me. SPOILER: it was thousands. 👀 by @jcruel

It's time for more stories I've gathered from single women!For the last year, I've been interviewing 50 single women across different ages, backgrounds, and cities for my book - Single Happy Female. I wanted to understand how single women are really building their lives.& naturally, I had to ask about their love lives too. 👀54% of the women I spoke to have taken a pause from dating.Some were focused on their careers, some encountered men who felt threatened by their ambition, there were mothers prioritizing their kids comfort level, and women who have seen multiple friends experience brutal breakups.None of them have completely given up, but they know their peace is worth protecting.I'd love to hear you thoughts in the comments!Single Happy Female — 2027 by @jcruel
