Catching up with legend John Carter. Some people capture moments. JC has captured the history of windsurfing.

For decades, John Carter has been behind some of the most iconic images our sport has ever seen. Countless World Cup events, shoots with every windsurfing legend you can think of, unforgettable trips, endless hours swimming with a camera in the water, always chasing the perfect shot.

What really sets JC apart isn’t just his talent, it’s his endless passion and work ethic. He’s always looking for the next frame, the next angle, the next composition. Even when everyone else is done, he’s still working, still creating, still seeing things the rest of us miss. The amount of time, energy and dedication he puts into every single image is almost impossible to imagine.

Through his lens, the world has discovered windsurfing. His contribution to our sport is simply immeasurable.

And beyond all that, he’s one of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll ever meet. Loved and respected by everyone who’s had the chance to know him.

Survival in Sotavento ☠️

Today was a day that no rider who competed will ever forget. Perhaps not even the windiest day of the week; although the gusts were still peaking over 50 knots… but it was the fresh pulse of swell that arrived during the lunch break which made today so incredibly challenging for all riders. Some of the sets were coming through over head high, and just sailing in a straight line seemed tough at times for even the best in the world!
