I started this journey of Fatherhood 17 years ago and what a journey it has been. Being a father is a blessing and I am grateful for the children I have been blessed with. Happy Father’s Day to all the active fathers out there grinding and providing for theirs. 🫡💪🏾💯

My Brit Brat got her first job today 😃!!

I am so proud of her! She has been determined and intentional about finding a job. She’s been applying for months with no luck, but she didn’t let that stop her. Yesterday, as we were walking out the door, she had a job interview canceled. Frustrated, understandably so, she didn’t let it deter her. Instead, she asked me if I could take her to some stores so she could “talk to a real person” (I guess she was over applying online and waiting 😂). We drove around for hours to many stores and even the mall, but to no avail. At this point, she started to become discouraged. I provided her with words of encouragement and talked to her about faith and understanding that things don’t always happen on our timing, but God’s timing. Well, on the way home, I needed to stop and get some groceries. My plan was to go to the Publix closest to the house, but as fate would have it, I ended up stopping at this Publix. Brit and I went in with no intentions on asking about a job, but God had different plans. As we walked into the store, we walked by an office and there were two people sitting in there. I told Brit to go over and say excuse me and ask if they are hiring. Meanwhile, I ducked off to allow her space to do her thing. As she walks towards the door, an associate beat her there, so she had to wait for an opportunity to speak. As she was waiting, another associate walked up to Brit and asked if they could help her (I’m at the end cap like 👀🔭). It seemed like the conversation was going well because I saw them smiling and laughing. Brit walks over to me smiling ear to ear and said that was the manager and they told her to find them after we were done shopping. We get to the checkout line and there is no one to bag, so Brit, being silly, saw the manager standing nearby and decided to start bagging our groceries. As she was in the process of bagging, the manager pulled her into the office for an official interview. Maybe 10 minutes later, Brit came out smiling and said, I GOT THE JOB🥹🙌🏾! We had to come back today to make it official. She is ecstatic, and so are we!! So proud of her 😃!! by @jd.smith__
