🌸 ᴘʀᴇᴛᴛʏ ɢɪʀʟꜱ ᴄᴏᴏᴋ — ᴘʜɪʟᴀᴅᴇʟᴘʜɪᴀ, ᴘᴀ • ᴀɴᴅ ᴛʜᴀᴛ’ꜱ ꜰᴀᴄᴛꜱ

There’s something powerful about breaking bread in a space that sees you. Tucked into Philadelphia, Pretty Girls Cook @yespgc is more than a restaurant — it’s a celebration. Of flavor. Of culture. Of Black women, by Black women, for everyone who gets it.

And honestly… what better way to enjoy it than with my best pretty girl friend - @shonari_xo 💕

The spread:
1 • Chicken & Waffles | golden, comforting, topped with fresh whipped cream and fruit — pure joy on a plate (my girl knew exactly what she was doing)
2 • Shrimp & Grits | heavy, creamy, thick, cheesy, and unapologetically rich — the kind of dish that hugs you back

The service was amazing, the music set the tone, and the energy felt alive. Even while recording, I was so present — grateful to be in a space that uplifts Black women, with a Black woman, as a Black woman. That matters.

And I literally just found out that they’ll be closing their doors on January 18th — which makes this experience feel even more special. I’m so thankful we got to sit, savor, and support while we could.

Every bite felt intentional.
Every moment felt affirming.

Would absolutely recommend.
Would absolutely go back if time allowed.
And deeply grateful to have experienced this gem.

🥖 ᴛʜᴇ ᴄʜᴇᴇꜱᴇꜱᴛᴇᴀᴋ ᴄʜʀᴏɴɪᴄʟᴇꜱ — ɢᴇɴᴏ’ꜱ ᴠꜱ ᴘᴀᴛ’ꜱ

When in Philly, you have to do the taste test — two legendary rivals, one city, one sandwich that defines it all.

I stopped by both Pat’s King of Steaks and Geno’s Steaks to finally settle the debate for myself.

@pats_king_of_steaks brought that classic, old-school Philly bite — juicy, seasoned beef, melted cheese, and nostalgia in every mouthful.

But Geno’s?! @genossteaks stole my heart. The bread was soft yet crisp, the cheese melted perfectly into the steak, and the seasonings blended together like they were meant to be. Every bite tasted fresh, intentional, and full of flavor.

Still — no true foodie can choose without trying both.
If you’ve been, which side are you on? 🧀👇

Tucked away in Wayne, Pennsylvania, @maison.lotus feels like a story told through balance — delicate, fiery, and grounded in intention. During their soft opening week, I sampled flavors that felt like poetry in motion.

The spread:
1 • Hot Stone Wagyu | lemongrass vinaigrette + garlic butter, noodles, shiitake mushrooms, crispy salad greens, bean sprouts & scallions
2 • House Duck | rich, comforting, perfectly crisped skin with fresh bok choy and in-house sauce
3 • Chicken Skewers | tender, smoky, kissed with spice

Cocktails that told their own story:
🍸 Maison 175 — leche-infused vodka, lemon, lemongrass & sparkling rosé
🍸 Gabriela’s Pho — gin, herbs, pho-spice infusion, jalapeño, lime & sriracha droplets

Each bite and sip was crafted with precision — soft heat, fresh herbs, and a calm that only comes from culinary confidence.

Such a treat to experience their first week of service! 🥂

Matt took his passion from the kitchen to the screen—and now straight into the heart of D.C. with the opening of @fraiche_dc

What started as viral comfort food and real-deal recipes has evolved into a full-circle moment: a chef-driven restaurant that blends flavor, culture, and creativity into every bite.

Seeing someone turn their love for food into legacy is everything—and trust me, Fraiche is a must-visit. This is what happens when passion meets purpose… and makes it happen.

🍽️ ꜰʀᴀɪᴄʜᴇ — ᴡᴀꜱʜɪɴɢᴛᴏɴ, ᴅᴄ
Five bites, one word: unforgettable. ✨

From bold starters to a beautifully crafted cocktail, Fraiche brings a fresh, flavorful twist to familiar dishes—elevating comfort into something crave-worthy and creative. Each dish had its own moment, and every bite hit.

Here’s what I enjoyed:

1 • Oxtail Meatballs — fried to perfection, served with a rich stew reduction and a sprinkle of parmesan
2 • Sticky Ribs — Asian-style spare ribs glazed in sweet-savory barbecue, topped with crispy fried shallots
3 • Cajun Mussels — smoky, dewy, and nestled in a spicy tomato broth that warms you from the inside out
4 • Golden Sage — a vibrant tequila cocktail with lime, pineapple, and sage that sips like sunshine
5 • Butterkiss Lamb Chops — four chops layered in citrus, garlic, and butter, paired with creamy mashed potatoes & asparagus

The vibe? Elevated but welcoming. A place I’d bring friends and family.
Huge shoutout to Mr. Make It Happen—he really did just that.

Fraiche is here to stay. And I can’t wait to show you more.
