The Unobtainable

I’ve been away, keeping most of my writing to myself, searching for something that was in front of me the whole time.

I’ve taken some time away from this account because I felt pressured, I felt the social media pressure getting to me, about not having enough followers, about not getting enough likes, enough comments, enough shares, I felt like there was no point... because of social media I lost touch with the reason I created this page, with the reason I post, with the reason I share my poetry and art with all of you... because of social media I was losing the love I have for poetry... because of this stigma that we have to get so many likes to be relevant, so many followers to be great... where did that all come from? Why do we have that mentality? Why do we put that pressure on ourselves? And why is it so easy to fall into that mentality?-
-
After taking some time alone, working on my first collection of poetry to be published, I realized one very important thing, all of that doesn’t matter, it’s not real, it is no important, even if you get only one like for a post if you only have 50 or 100 or 1000 followers, just remind yourself to #JUSTBEYOURSELF and to love what you do because that is what really is important to you and the people that follow you on these social media platforms!-
-
So let me take this moment to remind you all that you are loved, and you are amazing, and to #JUSTBEYOURSELF -

Notice how we are all moving in different directions, through different paths... One person’s success does not determine you as a failure, one person’s troubles should not be our own... Follow your path without worries of the outside world, we all in a way live life in our time zones!
