Tapping in the park today. Today was a taste of New York City Marathon. The most fittest people were collecting their Strava points out in the park. The community definitely motivate me to get out of bed. where people were running their thresholds, but also flying by you like a blur. It was awesome today. I had a Bike escort to keep me in rhythm but also to help to chase up those hillls. My friend Kate. @katemcpic kept me honest on the west side and then helped me peek on cat Hill. Running in the Adizero Pro Five was like a blur, specially with the bling on the back.

With measuring fitness on past results feeling pretty good of the effort that I have deposited into the bank.
Early years when I ran in this park with an Oklahoma area code before super shoes and local legends. The park was a humbling experience, but the fire is still there.

Why do I have so much anxiety is because I don’t wanna be average. Every day is me versus myself how can I push the limits but also how can I get the best out of me. I guess this is the fire that I have had inside me for about 25 years of being a competitive athlete. Never settling for less, but also going against the grain of people that doubted me. Many people go through these situations, but only half are able to adapt to the uncomfortability and transformed to somebody they never thought they could be.

Rochester 5K this morning awesome weather. Definitely went for it, but also had a little bit of competition. Local fellow Runners were asking me what’s my goal what’s my pace before the gun goes off? I said I’m here to race and to throw down so no sandbagging. The gun went off started moving for position on the 1st mile. We had a hairpin turn and then we started running some back trail paths through the river. I was fishing between second and third at mile one 520. The 2nd mile was a little bit more challenging. Got my heart rate up, but also made sure that the two runners that were in front of me did not get away. I stayed on the second place shoulder while he was working up the hill and I was jumping on the train. 5:44💀 with a mile and a half to go. I started making my move passing second and slowly prepping up to first. The course started to becoming flat and straight, so I was able to dial it in and work on the technique and take the threshold. 5:25 with 200 m to go. I did catch first but the last stretch youth got over experience. 17:18 5k

Cool thing about last Friday’s event is you have some awesome photographers that I’ve done some really cool shit in the city. Dan is a really good friend. That is part of the dashing Whippet. He got some awesome shots of me, throwing it down on the boardwalk.

The battle on the Boardwalk Rockaway, running past all the beach bums, and the sun bathing beauties.
Starting off coming from the city lights went through the 1st mile with a good pace. 5:18 Strategy was to feel the pace and worked your way into it after grabbing and swinging around the barriers mile two reminded me that I am training for a marathon. 5:24
With 1 mile to go, and the crowd cheering the local legend. On the back stretch it was too late to go out now it was all about trying not to get chased down. Ended up finishing 10th overall 16:55.

Yesterday was my 11th year running New York Road Runners Team Champs. When I first moved from Oklahoma to New York, I was completely finished with college and competing for a team. I was doing some local road races in Central Park.Ended up getting recruited for a team called Urban Athletic. I ran with them for about one year and graduated to New York Athletic Club.

With now being a member of NYAC and throwing it down with the best in New York.
Yesterday was a great effort. With living in New York for 15 years I know Central Park like the back of my running shoe. I started out with my teammate James Kelly making a move through the crowd for the first 2 miles. The 1st mile was very crowded. We were running down the westside of Central Park. 5:23 after going down the three sisters the 2nd mile I ended up taking over on the pace and pulling my teammate along. This is more of a downhill mile. I was staying controlled because I knew there was a little bit more challenge up ahead. 5:16

After completing 2 miles, we passed the tavern on the green, not letting gaps form but also picking off slower Runners throughout the course. Came through 5K at 1637 feeling very confident but also ready for wants to come. Mile four was the toughest cat Hill mini great Runners have died on this part of the course. My teammate thrives on hills so I tried to jump on, but he was a little bit more fresh than I was. 5:39 with 1 mile to go going through the most populated finish line with New York Road Runners with all the local teams cheering you on but also local photographers getting that ING pic. Finished off the race with a 526.
