The U.S. Virgin Islands is home to the breathtaking hibiscus, a flower that embodies beauty, resilience, and the vibrant spirit of the Caribbean. 🌺🇻🇮

Just as the hibiscus blooms with purpose and radiates beauty beyond its roots, this November, the spirit of the U.S. Virgin Islands will blossom thousands of miles away on the international stage in Japan. 🇯🇵✨

As I prepare to compete at @missinternationalofficial 2026, I carry a message inspired by this beautiful flower: true beauty knows no borders, and even the smallest bloom can make an impact on the world. 🌺

As Miss International US Virgin Islands, I had the honor of being welcomed to NANA Omakase in Bogotá, Colombia for such a special culinary experience. A heartfelt thank you to @nana.bogota for inviting me and making me feel so welcomed. This experience felt especially meaningful as I prepare to represent the U.S. Virgin Islands at Miss International in Japan this November 🇯🇵. Being able to experience a piece of Japanese culture during my time in Colombia made this moment an unforgettable part of my journey. 🤍🍣

NANA was founded in Bogotá in 2024 by Japanese Chef Koji Ogawa with the vision of sharing Japanese culture while highlighting the incredible ingredients Colombia has to offer. The intimate omakase experience features approximately 14–15 courses, bringing Japanese technique together with Colombian seafood and local ingredients. Even the name “NANA” carries a special connection to Japan, nana means seven (七) in Japanese, a number traditionally associated with good fortune.

A huge thank you to Chef Koji Ogawa @koji0gawa_ and Chef Tasuku Yokoyama @tasu0219 and to the entire NANA team, for sharing your craft, culture, and hospitality with me. Watching the precision and intention behind each course reminded me that food can be so much more than a meal, it can be a way of sharing heritage and creating connections between cultures. I left with a deeper appreciation for Japanese cuisine and the philosophy of omakase, placing your trust in the chef and allowing yourself to experience each creation as it comes. As Japan gets closer, I’m incredibly grateful for experiences like this that allow me to learn, connect, and carry those lessons with me on the road to @missinternationalofficial 🇻🇮🇯🇵❤️
