Words fail me. Honored to have been given the opportunity to play Tony in @murdaughonhulu.

This experience was truly lightning in a bottle. My gratitude pours out endlessly for the welcoming environment and creative osmosis this cast and crew has provided, so much love for the care involved and the delicate hands that brought this story to life. Much love to everyone involved. Here’s to ya Bo! 🥂

I love you more than life itself mom. Thank you for giving me 30 years of laughter, blessings, miracles, joy, and unconditional love. I am who I am because of you. I have this life because of you. You were my biggest supporter. You came to every ball game, every play, and every premiere. You always bailed me out of trouble. You saw the good in everyone and I try every day to see the world more like how you see it. You fought so hard for so long. You’re the strongest and most gentle person to ever walk this earth and I’m honored and so proud to call you my mother. Thank you for this life. Every time I wash the dishes I’m going to be waiting for you to spray the kitchen window with the garden hose. May your garden bloom eternally, sweet earth angel. I love you and I’ll see you soon. 6/10/2026 2:33 p.m. 🌻💚🕊️ by @jdstarnes4

JD Starnes as Mortimer

Once human, now synthetic-Mortimer carries the burden of remembering a life he no longer owns. He’s an android constructed with the neural imprint of his original human self, imitating emotions he can’t fully feel and an inherited faith that wanes daily. As his system nears shutdown, Mortimer clings to a salvaged Super 8 reel-his final chance to piece together a fragmented identity and glimpse the family he once loved. taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @jdstarnes4

Here is a side by side of a clip from our original family home video that inspired a scene from To Charlie, From Kamryn and a still of @jdstarnes4 immersed in the scene 🤍

While the girls were playing in the backyard, Charlie was laying in the driveway watching him and Kamryn’s brother skate. We’re excited for you to see how we transformed this memory into the film.

Currently it has screened privately for friends, family, and the public at the Charlotte Film Festival. As our festival journey continues, stay tuned for a final public release by the end of 2026 🎬

We’re also excited to share that @tocharlieshortfilm won Best Family Drama and Best Standard Short in the monthly awards at @realefilmfestival by @jdstarnes4

You could give @jdstarnes4 the most cliche line and he would still find a way to make it fresh and original.

Every time I watch him work, I get this feeling that if I had 10 actors with his experience and courage to take risks, I could be the next Wes Andersen.

For this film we might have something better. Each of the cast brings thier own interesting branding to the table and are incredibly clever with what they’re doing on screen

They’re fascinating to watch and as an editor I’m so lucky to have the material they give me for this insane art project!

This episode introduces our “Male Lead” JD Starnes. More to come.
