Today we laid Shrimpy in her favourite place to start her main snooze. She lay in the sun whilst we dug her forever bed, giving her a final cuddle before her physical form as we know disappears. @fig_by_four and I decided to place her between her favourite climbing tree and favourite dead tree scratching post just behind where she’s laying in this video. I was strangely calmed by her being frozen in a curled up sleeping position at the vets and it’s difficult to let her body go. I’m comforted by the notion that she’s going to live on through the crocus and tulip bulbs we scattered over her. Love you tiny boo can’t believe you left me to live my silly little life without you. by @jeb_pane

The sweetest furry croissant crossed the rainbow bridge today to wistfully gaze upon butterflies in the sun. After a very brief and sudden decline in health, she passed with her head on my hand and my head on hers. She brought me to life, she helped me through some of the darkest days I’ve known in the past 6 years and in return she was loved so deeply by me, and all that partook in the delight of Shrimpy. My girl was 14.5 years old, spending her younger years with my sister. She was a force of nature, but so gentle and sweet, she loved to zoom up trees and she loved sleeping on the roof of the @fig_by_four van when we three lived together in our silly little whurld. I’m beyond heartbroken right now and I feel like my heart will never recover. Sleep well my little sweet Shrimpy, enjoy your forever sunshine whurld 🌈☀️❤️‍🔥 by @jeb_pane

I’m emotional wreck after this weekend and the @esperscout one night only reunion. Relearning some of our songs has been pretty tough- physically because I have stupid tennis elbow atm, emotionally because I thought that chapter was over and the first break up was very difficult for me, and mentally because I couldn’t remember how to play them. I gave up bass for 2 years post split, but the pandemic and joining the @fig_by_four live band spurred me and I am a much stronger musician now. I always feel like being a musician is a gift and it’s so special, I got my first bass age 17 (23 years ago), started teaching myself and I’m really grateful to the exuberant and life grabbing teenager I was back then. It all started with Kirsty and Sarah too, and @chpeach in our band The Emetics. It was incredible and special to be back together with my gang @figbyfour @kirstyscout @abzzzdrumzzz and I love you forever.

THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came, to the ones I knew and the surprises! I wept and laughed many many times. Esper Scout’s and @bombhetwist core has always been about community and the bonds built over all these years felt as strong as ever.

I’d make that album 👀

Been a bit slowish going on the renovation- we suffered Christmas (which was actually a very lovely time) and @hamsamgram built an over the stairs bed loft for Lola (more to come on that soon for those who partake). Anyway, been chipping away at the entrance/stairs/landing and it’s almost at the decorating point. Many holes and gouges filled, re-plastering the bigger areas, stripped paint and varnish, so much sanding and dust, removing ugly old polystyrene coving. Today I finally got round to resealing the front door. Still haven’t got a clue what colour I wanna make it but I’m certain that I need to tile the entrance floor. Open to hex codes. 👷‍♀️🛠🖌 #renovation #reno #renovationreb #diy by @jeb_pane

First time using masking fluid, not my first time painting mushrooms 🍄 #watercolour #painting #windsorandnewton #tintoretto #amanitamuscaria #flyargaric #mushroom #art by @jeb_pane

So happy with how this came out! The airing cupboard was an absolute mess, there were so many holes in the walls and ceiling, rough wood, broken shelves and a half missing floor. A project which spiralled a bit out there, yet not far enough. I just know I’ll be coming back to add more paintings. 🦐🌱🕊⭐️#renovation #home #diy #mural #art #skipton #seaside #beach by @jeb_pane

A few weeks in with the Elec Installation L1 and I can confirm I was built for trades work. Did a thing but couldn’t tell you what I did just that I did it. MVP to my pants and the variety of pockets within. Not MVP to my steel toe boots because ouch ⚡️ #sparky #electrianlife #ohm #youwatt #electrician #pockets #pockets #pockets by @jeb_pane

It’s been a week of non stop work to get the children’s bedrooms to a state they can live in them (for those who don’t know my partner @hamsamgram has 2x teenagers). I’ve learnt a lot- everything I’ve done I’ve never done before.

I burned myself stripping layers of wall paper (mvp to the worst job ever), plastered and fixed up holes after the electricians rewired the house, hung wall paper on old walls in my underwear when it was 30 degrees, cleaned so many cobwebs and accumulated dirt in a home that’s been vacant for a year, had to smell the most disgusting carpets give up their odours after cleaning, lifted flags in the garden to start a complete landscaping renovation, have a big bruise on the sole of my foot from being up and down the ladders millions of times (need better shoes), wrecked my nails I’d been growing out to paint for the Wedding of the Century this weekend, and more. I of course haven’t done it all myself and I’ve had a cleaning crew of family around to assist and I’m grateful for all the help and words of encouragement. There’s still a lot to do but I’m proud of my start.

I’m now enjoying a well deserved sit down and 500 cups of tea, but what I’d really love is a hand massage ✌️🛠☕️🏡🎨

My first act of defiance as a homeowner was to get a TEAM of women in to rewire my house- they smashed it out in a few days. Now to scrape paper and fill out the chases ⚡️#renovation #diy #stripper #renovationreb #skipton #feminism #thistle by @jeb_pane
